I think the government should declare a debt amnesty. They're always moaning about the level of personal debt in this country. What they forget is that low wages, extortionate mortgages, exorbitant transport prices, rampant unemployment, high taxation etc. etc. are THEIR fault, not ours, and that the reason people live beyond their means is Government incompetence, not so much personal fecklessness. You cannot live within your means when you're in a part time, minimum wage job.

So I think there should be a debt amnesty. You should be able to take your mortgage, credit card bill, red letters from the electric board etc. to the local police station, leave them all anonymously in a big box, and never see them again.

As for the banks and their profiteering, multi millionaire directors and share holders, I say UP YOURS to the lot of them. If they find themselves running out of money after the amnesty, there are plenty of crap, unsocial hours, minimum wage jobs for them.

I graduate from college after winter semester in 2007 which is only 2 semesters away. I'm afraid I won't get a full time job with benefits. My major is Office Professions, which is secretary and administrative work. I'm just scared I'll end up living with my parents forever cause I won't have the money to support myself.

I disputed a collections on my report with the credit bureau, no more then 6 days later they came back with a result of (item was verified and updated), how could this be? The collection agency refuse to send me my response to my VOD request but can send verification to the credit bureaus??? What steps are the credit bureaus required to do to verify a debt? My answer is just ask the creditors and whatever they say it sticks no matter what. In that case I need to have my own collection agency so I can make up false debts to get rich???

There is no way I'd be able to fit the question into the question line...

Anyway, a chain of grocery stores in my area are now accepting "fingerprint payments." What this means is they have your debit account in their computer system and you simply slide your finger over a print recognition device to pay. The device can also be used in place of scanning your member card.

Now I'm not saying this is the end of the world or anything like that, but do find it rather disturbing for the following reasons. Why would anyone in their right mind let a private company keep their fingerprint on record? Furthermore, why would anyone let a company who is able to keep track of their purchasing habits (amount of alcohol they buy, amount they spend on groceries, etc.) hold not only their fingerprint, but bank account info too? What if the company's database were infiltrated?

What is your reaction to this and similar technologies?

I am really desperate, things have really slowed down at work and I really need money to pay off all my bills. I am sixty years old, and should thinking of retiring in the next couple of years, but instead I am looking for a second job, which I have to put on hold while I get a couple of medical issues taken care of. If you know where someone like me can get a loan of at least $15,000 to pay off my debts, please let me know.

Your empire is making money hand over fist, why should you be charging the lonely, down hearted and unloved people on this planet to post an ad to find someone that will make them happy?
You would be doing the world a huge favor by dropping the cost of posting ad's and recieving emails from their possible soul mate to nothing.
Plus in doing that, you'd be cutting the throat of your compatision, charging thirty dollers a month for any or all personal ad's is nothing more than price gouging!
You're doing the same thing with your personals as the big oil companies are doing with gas prices ... sticking it to the public once again!
Be the bigger and better company and actually help out the little people out here that pay your over inflated saleries by buying into all the ad's you place on your site!
Just be human for a change and give the public a break!

I am a white male with a permanent physical disability living in the state of Virginia. I started my own business only a short time ago. Someone suggested that my business may be classified as minority owned and as such may be eligible for special loans or grants. I have two questions. 1. Does my disability classify me as a minority business owner? 2. Where can I look/Whom can I contact for further information? Thanks
