most bosses who are successful are S.O.B.s they could care less how badly they treat you as long as you make them look good. I work with a guy who started at the bottom and is now my boss, not on his own but, his dad is one of the big bosses, he's feared because of his firing habits, and was a really nice guy when he started. Power goes to some peoples heads and makes them rotten.

Because they do not know what they ask.
Communicate more with your boss. Ask him/her to clarify any aspects of your assignments that you do not understand.
