I have my mom's old wedding rings she gave me several years ago. The set is from about 1958. The diamond is beautiful, appears to be about one carat, with several other smaller diamonds in the band part of the ring. It is in a white gold setting.

I'm considering having this beautiful diamond made into a piece of jewelry for myself. I have my own wedding ring, so I don't need a wedding set. I've thought of having a nice pendant or some type of ring in a more modern setting.

If I take this in to the jewelers, how can I be sure I have the same diamond when I retrieve it? I'm no jewelry expert, so how can I be sure the jeweler won't switch stones on me before I get the piece back? There is a jeweler in town who designs his own stuff and is reputable. But I'm wondering if I, as a novice, can tell the difference in stones.

Also, do you think the piece would have more value as is, in the old original setting, or in a newer more modern piece of jewelry?

I had dark hair before ( not natural) and wanted to go blonde, so i dyed it with pre-lightner. It did make it lighter but now has gone a funny blondey orange colour with bright blonde roots (`pause for laughter). I have done this twice now and has gone a little lighter each time. Do ya think i could just continue till i get the result i want or does anyone know if this will never happen?
If i dyed my hair with normal blonde hair dye it would darken my hideous bright roots but don't think it will have any affect on the rest of my orange mop! The second time i pre-lightened it, it did go a little lighter like i said so my hair is sort of strawberry blonde (which is quite a cute colour). I have tried to go blonde again in the past twice before but have given up coz of tragic results and gone back to dark.

Also, before any smart arses say ' duh, go to a hairdressers!' I have serious limited funds and need to do this on the cheap! Any ideas peeps? Thank You

My natural color is dirty blonde, and I bleached 2 shades of lighter streaks into it a while back. I wanted a change, and tried a demi-permanent (lasting 8 weeks) no-ammonia mahogany color from L'oreal. It came out a little more red than expected, but still acceptable. However, I colored it only 5 days ago and it's already faded to more of a pinkesh red. I did make a few mistakes without knowing better (washing the hair in hot water, etc.) so I suppose that's why it's faded so quickly! I was planning on buying another demi-permanent color from L'oreal, this time in brown, and using it this weekend to tone the color down to more of an auburn shade. Does anyone know if this will work, or have any better ideas? Thanks!!

I heard that in the movie "Blue Lagoon".

Or is that as false as the claim that lemon juice reddens your hair?

I bought a pair of juicy shoes. They are unbearably painful to wear. I wore them a couple of times hoping with each time i wear them, they will break in. This never happened! I paid over $200 dollars for these shoes! The bottom is really messed up because of the gold material they use on the bottom. Will i still be able to return them? I heard Nordstrom has a very good return policy but I am kind of embarrassed to return something i wore but they were so expensive..what should i do?

Okay so currently I have alot of blonde highlights in my hair, naturally it's a dark blonde, I'm getting Senior pictures soon and whatever my hair is in them I have to stick with for a while becuase I'll be using them as portfolio pictures for modeling so I need lots of oppions! My friends and family are so split, they either love the light brownish color or love the blonde so I'm so torn! Which do you think? Also my bangs are pretty long, so bangs or no bangs?

Well you see, I like tattoos. And I don't plan on getting them because I'm a Christian (Says in Leviticus 19:28). How do i get rid of these desires of having a tattoo? And if I get one, God and my Whole family wouldn't like it. Can someone help me get rid of these thoughts?

seems like people always want to get rid of it and cover it up. I think shiny skin (not greasy) looks glowy, dewy and nice...why do people always want the matte look?

i have had my ears pierced twice now. both times i bought cheap earings and had my ears pierced by Claire's, and both times just one of my ears swelled and turned red and puffy. it didn't really hurt, but it was warm. i am not sure if this is an alergic reaction or an infection, or is my body just not able to be pierced? i would really like to have pierced ears, so should i try a different piercing place? any suggestions?
