i would help him, it's not like he chose to be that way. in the psychology field it is a heated debate wether being trans-gender is an 'official' mental illness like OCD and schizophrenia. Trans genders feel like they were born to be the opposite sex and they can't help the way they feel. it is worse enough that he has to suppress his feelings for others, but it must feel horrible to be rejected by someone who supposedly loves you.

With you asking this question, I'm assuming that you seriously want to try crossdressing or are already a crossdresser who is looking for a way to break the news to your girlfriend. First off, I strongly suggest that you really think about your reasons and motives for this.

If your intention is to simply try crossdressing because it honestly intrigues you, then the best way to go about it is to just say it to your girlfriend. Say that you've always wondered what it would be like to crossdress. You never know, she might think it would be a lot of fun. Try to make it a fun little event that can go as little or as far as you're comfortable with.

Now, if you are in all actuality a bond fide crossdresser, I think you should not take the "I want to try crossdressing" approach mentioned earlier. Women see right through that line of reasoning and will call you on your b/s. Instead, you need to come clean with her on the fact that you are a crossdresser. As before, she might be perfectly fine with this, or she might be appaled by it. She might react with the same misconceptions that many of the posters here have. You'll have to be prepared to accept whatever outcome that happens. FYI, you need not have crossdressed before to be considered a crossdresser.

A male who crossdresser is someone who simply enjoys wearing womens clothes. The overwhelming majority are straight men who otherwise live very normal lives and a far cry from the outrageous examples you see on Jerry Springer or Maury Povich. I speak from experience on this, because I am a crossdresser, and I'm also 100% hetrosexual. I only occasionally dress up. My current girlfriend knows and actually likes it. Good luck with this one!

OK, to begin with you are a wise person to do your homework about this before jumping to conclusions. As information, 90% of all crossdressers are totally heterosexual so you have little to worry about in regards to his being gay. Crossdressers are BORN the way they are and therefore have no more choice in the matter than one has a choice as to their hair color, eye color, or any of thousands of other personal traits. In short – they have no option NOT to be a crossdresser.

Crossdressers have an admiration and adoration for women that goes far above that of most common men and this is one of the things that causes them to want to emulate that for which they have so much admiration. They don’t want to BE a woman in the physical sense, but rather to experience what they believe it feels like to be pretty and wear the same type of things that the ‘objects of their admiration’ wears. This isn’t any different than most of us did as children when we were pretending to be one of our ‘heros’ we saw on television.

So in answer to your question the first thing you should do is have some long serious discussions with him about the subject. Honest, open, and frequent communication is the most important thing that can help BOTH of you to understand each other’s thoughts and views and therefore calm any fears that either of you have. Actually, you can have a lot of fun with it if you can accept this need that he has (and, yes, it is a NEED for him just as much as eating when he’s hungry, resting when he’s tired, etc.).

The key to understanding him – and him understanding YOUR views and opinions about the subject – is doing what you’ve already begun to do by researching it. In doing so beware of those web sites that do little more than to sensationalize crossdressing. Instead, seek out informative sites that give you factual information. I offer you the material on the site listed below as a point of reference and a place to start. It’s a CLEAN site with information that both you and your boyfriend can benefit from visiting.

Once I might have thought it would be
intolerable. Not sure back then.

However, watch a movie (English I
think) called, "Just Like a Woman."

It's a very touching story and really
beautifully done. You'll see the whole
issue in a very different light, I think,
as I did.

So now; no wouldn't bother me. I
might even get a kick out of it as long
as he is absolutely heterosexual.

I may be gay but I draw then line when it comes to my romantic interests going drag! I'm sorry that may make me a bit shallow I guess but as a gay man I like guys, not girls and guys that dress like girls. I'm afraid I would have to get a new boyfriend. Its just one of my hang-ups I guess!

It sounds so horrible, but I would probably laugh a little and I would dump him, I wouldn't be able to deal with that.

i don't think i'd dump him straight away but i'd be seriously worried. if he was just a bit 'curious' then i'd let him experiment for a laugh but if i saw him with his 'manhood' hidden between his legs, sqeezing his hoofs into my best shoes and wearing lacy red underwear, then i'd dump him.
