Beauty & Style - 5 February 2007

I'm almost 40 and I've been a stay at home mom for 16 years. As my youngest gets older (8), I'm looking for something to do that I can make a little money, meet some people and not have to work long hours or holidays. I have 4 kids and want to be home for them after school and in the evenings. I also want to have a career of some sort. What do you think - am I too old to go to beauty school and work as a beautician? I didn't go to college and I don't want to go to college for the next 4 years.

I wear mascara but that's about it really, people say i look fine without it. What make-up does a tall long haired blonde suit with green eyes? Just wonderin' :) Thanku!

I have recently got married at Gretna Green and wore beautiful ivory shoes, which I wore again at a party we held for family and friends when we got home. However, I cant bear to think that i will never wear them again and wondered if anyone knows how to dye wedding shoes. I would like to dye them back to ivory as there are few marks on them but I have been told that this wont be possible so I was thinking about dyeing them black so that they can be my best going out shoes. Alternatively if anyone knows if it is possible to get satin shoes professionally cleaned I would aprreciate hearing how and where.

thigh highs? I'm not a fan of pantyhose, but I never feel "complete" without some sort of hosiery. I've been wearing thigh highs, but it seems after I've worn them a couple of times they begin to fall. From time to time I'll wear a garter belt to keep my thigh highs up, but sometimes my outfit doesn't allow me to hide my garters. Any other women experience the same problems?

Every morning in homeroom this girl (who sits across the room) stares me up and down. First she looks at my shoes underneath the desk the my pants and shirt.

She will either make an ugly face at me if she hates what i'm wearing or she will look surprised if i am dressed really cute.
