Yes, it's common. Get some tall tube socks to protect your legs until they toughen up.

You obviously need taller Socks! Tony Lama's are well known as being some of the best boots made so I'm sure it is not the boots fault!

I wouldnt wear Tony Lama boots anyways, they don't hold up to well. I would try and get some Justin's. They are a little more expensive but hold up for years if you take care of them. They are right just get some like knee high socks. Thats what I wear with mine.

Tony Lama makes some nice boots. Get boot sock which are higher.

Wear socks that are taller than your boots. I have had Red Wings, Whites and Justins do the same thing as well.

wear longer socks, so it doesnt rub so bad, i had the same problem, hurts like heck!
