Beauty & Style - 12 December 2006

Ok..So my usual look is powder foundation (bare minerals), a bit of blush, mascara and eye liner (but not too dark).. I just want something else to brighten up my look.. I really don't like wearing eye shadow unless it is for a special occasion, and I don't like to worry about messing it up throughout the day..So what could I do to make my look more exciting? A certain mascara? Bronzer? I have no idea...let me know if you have any good suggestions.

I wash my face twice a day, morning and night, but I've heard that you're only supposed to use your bare fingers when you wash your face, that you shouldn't use a washrag, even if its a clean, fresh one. Is this true?

i think i am semi hair-retarded when it comes to curling my hair with a curling iron. i know how to but it never looks good. does anyone have tips on how to do a better job or have any suggestions on different ways to get wavy hair

I have dark brown hair that has some diminishing darker blonde highlights. Certainly a lot of root showing. I want to try to completely get rid of the highlights I have now and instead put some black highlights in my hair. I almost contemplated dying all of my hair black. I am going for a darker edge in my style right now, certainly gothic in some ways. I am hoping this will look good, so I will certainly try something that will wash out first just to see what it looks like. But I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what I should do to get rid of the diminishing highlights I have right now, and also if anyone had any recommendations for a good washout black highlight treatment? I don't wanna spend a lot of money by going to the salon, but I also want it to look good.

I want to grow my hair out without having the roots, of course. I've never used wash out color. I've only used permanant color. Is using the wash out kind a good way to grow out my normal color? Does the wash out kind look really bad or fade or whatever? Thanks for your help!

I bought a vintage fur jacket, and now have no idea what kind of fur it is, when I have worn it a couple of people have asked me, and I don't know what to say. Someone said it might have been mink or sable. I have a mink, and really sensetive skin, and the hairs from the mink actually bother my skin, but this one dosn't, so I am thinking it might be a different fur. Its a mahogany color, but then has black spots, and other areas of black. What is this fur on my jacket?

My friends and I can't agree. Which part of tattooing hurts more: the outline or the shading/coloring? My friend claims that the outline hurts more because it's usually done with a heavier hand. I think that the shading is the most painful because sometimes it takes several passes with several layers of color. What, in your personal experience, hurts more?
