If you want a more natural looking waves, try to doing the srcunched-hair. After washing your hair, towel dry and do not comb it. Just apply some hair serum or mouse and then scrunch. Let it dry naturally for softer curls or use hair diffuser if you're in a hurry. Also try using big hair rollers if you want waves like the Victoria's Secret girls.

Yesterday my mom and I experimented with curling my hair. We left hot rollers in for about an hour, and touched it up with a curling iron. With some gel and arranging it looked pretty good. I found that if you leave the top part semi-straight (I have some bangs, and it didn't look very good with them curled), you can get it looking very soft and natural as it gradually gets curlier towards the middle and bottom.

My hair is also extremely straight and doesn't take a curl easily at all. All I would have to do is spray some water in it and brush it to get all the curls out.

Also, I tried scrunching the other day and it didn't work for me at all. I washed it, put mousse, gel, and hairspray in it, put the diffuser on my hair dryer, and blow dried it on the lowest setting while scrunching it. The end result was not pleasing to me (it looked like I had just been in the dishwasher), so I just wet it down and brushed it straight. It certainly didn't move around much with all that hairspray and gel, I can at least say that much!

Always when using a curling iron take a small section of hair and make sure you go all the way to the end of your hair before you start to roll.

Also try curling shampoo and scrunch.

First, use Suave Healthy Curls Shampoo and Conditioner: it gives your hair volume and wave. When hair is dry, use one of Garnier Fructis' mousses and pull out that curling iron. Using a curling iron takes practice...before you wash your hair you can practice on pieces of hair..you'll get it. After curling, use some gel, cream or mousse, like Garnier Fructis Hard Curl or Dove's anti frizz cream. After that, spray your hair lightly with an aerosol hairspray. when applying, shake your head slightly side to side while spraying. I use this process when i do my hair in curls. Everyone compliments my hair, and I hope that you will get compliments too! Good Luck! :)

i have pin-straight hair but i just discovered that if i scrunch my hair with gel after i get out of the shower and hair spray it then my hair gets some wavy curls. the wind and air gives it a nice touch by making it look more natural and gives my hair the pretty tousled look.
as for a curling iron, i have no luck with it either. it never comes our right.

using hot rollers usually looks significantly better than using a curling iron.
