I bought a vintage fur jacket, and now have no idea what kind of fur it is, when I have worn it a couple of people have asked me, and I don't know what to say. Someone said it might have been mink or sable. I have a mink, and really sensetive skin, and the hairs from the mink actually bother my skin, but this one dosn't, so I am thinking it might be a different fur. Its a mahogany color, but then has black spots, and other areas of black. What is this fur on my jacket?

Take it to a fur dealer to certify what kind of fur you are wearing.

The black means it is muskrat. It it was all mahogany, it would be groundhog.
Both is good eatin.

How 'bout you take it to a furrier and ask them? That's what I'd do. Of course, I'd know what type it was...IF I COULD SEE IT!!!
