What can I do to be able to take excellent pictures, I mean really artistic works of art? I know there are some people who are just natural at it, but I'm not sure what I am capable of. I'm a beginner at photography and I am just anxious as to how I will do in the class that I'm taking right now. I have a lot of creative ideas inside my head, but I don't know how they would look on pictures. Of course I'm gonna take some pictures and see for myself, but I just need to know one thing: is photography something that you can practice to be good at, or is it just something that you have to have a talent for... like if you don't have a natural talent for it then you can't do it.

I love photography.

when they are anywhere from 2 to 5 years old. I'm doing them in black and white (timeless)..... and posting them scattered on a large wall... I want to make it artsy dramatic... I don't want to frame them, but just put it on the plak -it board. Not sure on size...I can go anywhere from 16 to 20 inches squared, without going to crazy large... they are all headshots that would cover the entire square inch of whatever size I choose... what do you think would be a good size...? Or if you have any other tips on how to arrange them up there or anything other tip?

I'm really interested in long exposure photography. I need to give a report in school about a photographer but can't think of anyone. I did a paper before on Hiroshi Sugimoto, so I can't do it on him again.

Who are some photographers that do it (preferably of cities/streets/etc) who also have books written about them? I need actual print material on them, not just websites.

I'm looking for a photo of a lake or pond, swamp or body of water that has a weeping willow (or any other tree) sort of hanging over the water in a silhouette. If anyone could help me that would be great!

The other night there was the most beautiful blue sky with the most amazing moon I have ever soon but when I tryed to capture it, the moon comes out blurry and crappy. I have tried all the settings that my Kodak Z740 Digital has (I know its not the best camera). And the other evening the sun was setting with the most beautiful hot pink color that I have never seen before and I tried to shoot that but the obvious glare of the sun prevented me from capturing that sight.

Does anybody know how to add a splash of color to certain objects in a black and white picture? I have a standard photo editing program on my computer, but I havent been able to figure out how to do it. Is this something I can accomplish using PhotoImpression or HP Image Zone, or do I need a different program? If so, which do you recommend and why?

So my nephew came over today because I had to watch him, and he agreed to pose for me so I could do some experimenting.

Here's my two shots, the first is what a pro I talked to told me to try, and the last is what I eventually worked it down to.

I've read about the other modes, especially the Shutter (S) and Aperture (A) modes, but I can't seem to "understand" it nor which buttons to press concerning the settings.

So should I shoot and shoot and shoot with the auto mode before proceeding to the others? In time I would really like to learn how to maximize the other modes though.

I'm using the kit lens of 18-55mm.
