The first one is very good. The only flaw I could find was the blown highlights right next to the kitten.
The second picture wasn't as good. The highlights were blown all over the picture, and the angle seemed a bit odd. Maybe it was the wide angle distorting the kitten's head so much, I'm not sure. Going down one stop in exposure and using a more telephoto setting on the lens would fix most of what's wrong.
Keep shooting more pictures like the first one. A slightly different angle would remove the blown highlights.

The kitty in the tree is a great photo. You have framed the kitten with the leaves of the tree, which is an excellent photographic technique.

The kitty on the sill is a comical photo, due to the extreme close-up. Pics like this are used in a series of greeting cards (I can't remember who makes them), where all the pics are taken at close range to distort the facial features, to produce a comic effect.

The tree shot is awesome, the composition on the other could be better, although I like the perspective.
On a side note, there's a freeware program called gimp available that does most of the stuff photoshop does. You can download it at www.gimp.org
Might help you out with your digital photos.
