Does anyone actually try to use it in their photography?? I have had it effect outdoor photo's, when shooting toward the sun.

If I wanted to acheive that effect indoors and on purpose, away from the sun, what would be the best way to gather the flare, without washing out the shot?? Longer lenses?? More or less zoom?? WIll shutter speed, or f-stop change things??

Will repeated shots toward a high energy light source (sun, very bright lights, etc...) effect the sensor significantly more than other shots??

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

I know there is a camera with a certain setting that will put the image in b&w but it will let you choose an object that you would like to be in color. Does anyone know the name of the camera?

I have looked at www.blurb.com, but $35 for a 150 page book is a little too expensive.

I'm in the market for a medium format camera.
So far I have discovered the Holga w/a color flash and the Lomography Diana+

DOES ANYONE WITH MEDIUM FORMAT CAMERA EXPERIENCE HAVE A SUGGESTION AS TO WHICH ONE WOULD BE BEST FOR ME? (and if not these two, feel free to suggest a different camera)--AND CAN YOU COMPARE AND CONTRAST THE HOLGA AND DIANA FOR ME?

more details: I prefer a camera with a manual focus, and one that can easily be modified or has options for accessories (such as filters, etc.)

THANK YOU!!

okay so i'm playing around with the light meter, and when i find the setting i want (which was 1/6.. i have no idea what that means anyway) and i noticed that no matter what setting i do, the picture comes out with a yellow color like this:

http://i9.tinypic.com/6q29mdv.jpg

as you can probably tell, i know nothing about the settings on an SLR camera and how to take a good picture.

do you have any suggestions? i love photography and i would really like to learn more and take lovely photos :)

thanks!

by the way, i'm 15 and i have a digital rebel xti. if that helps in any way.

What do you like/dislike about the Nikon D40? What would be the best lens for it and at what price? Is it worth buying the "kit" with 2 lenses or just the body with the 1 lense?

p.s. It would be my first dslr. I want one and it is the less expensive Nikon and probably better for starting out on. I had an old Nikon FM10 35mm, but am sick of using a relative's little Kodak point and shoot.

I am going to look at it in the morning since it will be Black Friday

I have had a digital camera for about two years, and I just wonder if folks who use photoshop recommend it for beginners or should we just continue using something like Picasa? I am just about out of subjects to shoot...or am I just unimagnative. Actually it's a very exciting medium...how does one know if his photos are really "art". I certainly don't want to be a diletante but I honestly don't know if this is good for me to pursue.

I live a few miles from the Getty Center (Los Angeles) and it's free to get in. (http://www.getty.edu). Anyway, during one of my frequent trips, I was walking down their beautiful stairs, and this caught me. I think it would be completely different if it were in black and white.

I used Canon 5D with Canon 50 mm f 2.5 Macro lens. It is an inexpensive lens--very very sharp, but a bid loud (during focus) and it served me well.

I am new to filters and polarizers and have a question or two about them.

Can I buy a grad.neutral density filter that just screws onto the threads of the lense? Or do I have to buy the filter strips and then adapters to shoot with them?

If there are circular grad. ND filters rings that mount directley to the lense what brand Grad ND filter would you recomend?

Plus, Are all the threads on these lenses for adapting filters the same? I realize there diamaters are different but Iam refering to the threads for attaching the filters or Uv protectors to them. Thanxs!

What do yo guys do when a client is unhappy? I've done about 25 family portrait shoots and had my first client who wasn't that happy with the images. Her family wasn't smiling and as much as i tried to get them "into it" they just stood there. The background was outside and beautiful and she wanted it outside now she is saying that maybe we should do "re-takes" indoors.

TIA!

Help!
In the middle of a photo project and I was outside in middle of cold weather and very light rain. Now today, I look through my camera and it's foggy. Even after I switched lenses, it's foggy. I clothed off both sides of the lense and the viewfinder, and even looked inside with lense off. Even with lense dry, it looks foggy. Can I shoot? I really needed to. I can still focus, even with the fog, but how will the pictures come out? (This is not a digital camera, so I won't know until I develop).

Hi all, like some l have read here, lm also entering into taking Wedding pictures for the first time. I have a Canon 30D and have taken masses amounts of sports pictures over the past 7 years, where l have pictures published in news and defence news nationally. Im purchasing an external flash, (Sigma 500DG-ST) and updating my card sizes to 4gig, (possibly 2 more) and there speeds. I have a 17 - 85 IS USM and 70-300 IS USM lenses. The main question is, do you think the camera l am using and the lenses will be suitible, if not your recomendations would be appriciated.
