I read the definitions provided by answers.com, but I still don't understand.

No, this isn't part of a homework assignment, I'm just curious. A friend sent me a link to this site http://www.sgeier.net/fractals/flam3/ , and I'd never heard of a fractal, but thought the pictures were really cool, so I tried to look up what they were. I don't get it. Can someone explain in non-scientific vocabulary? Small, simple words are appreciated.

Hello, all. First post here - hope this works.

I'm doing double-sided printing with a desktop color laser printer. After printing, I want to take each sheet and coat it on both sides with a glossy coating, like Hahnemule or PremierArt PrintShield. I need the final product to look glossier and feel smoother, like a page from a magazine.

I can't find any desktop machines for that, though. Everything out there is huge and aimed at mass printing shops - and costs $300k.

I'll buy a spray can and try that, but seems like it would be better, faster, and cheaper if I could find some kind of sheetfed coating machine.

Anyone ever seen such a thing? Any other advice to offer?

Thanks,
Barry

I need to know the title of this really famous Romantic painting. Probably everybody's seen it before. It shows a guy dressed in black and carrying a cane standing up on this cliff and looking down at the scenery below. It was done by a European guy. I need to know this for a paper I'm writing on Romantisim. Thanks!

Hey guys,
I have a DSLR camera from Olympus, E-330, and I was wondering how can I take the pictures while its snowing outside. I understand there is a waterproof case for the camera, but I think its a bit too much, since I am not submerging underwater, but rather having some of that snow on the camera. Now, i haven't done it yet, because I am afraid it might ruin the system, but maybe there is a special case or method for taking such pictures. I am asking about taking the camera outside, not sitting at home taking pictures from my window. Any information will help. Thank you very much.

I mean like the kind of stencil you would use for glass etching or spraypaint.

What is this picture called? Or this type of picture? Or who draws them or something? There's like a whole series of these sorts of pictures (different themes though) but the same style and I have no idea what to search for when I try to look for them.

The problem is most of us artists still have to get up the next morning and go off to some real job and do some real work to pay our bills.

How often do your inspirational surges play hell with your real time life? You ever get into a groove and not want to stop? Shouldn't God or the US government figure out some way for us to keep the same hours as our muses and still be able to pay our bills?

I don't know about you guys but my muse likes to keep late night hours and more often than not she's a pain in the butt when it comes to punching a more practical time clock.

So about four o'clock this morning this thing was finished:

The title is either an homage to the muse or a slightly veiled threat that she start keeping better hours or she'll be out of a job.

I want to make my mom a calender for Xmas. If I laminate the pictures, will that ruin them? Do you have any other ideas on how I could put it together? I don't have the money to do it online or at the store, so I'm on my own this time. But she lives so far away for the school year, I thought this would be nice.
