I want to make my mom a calender for Xmas. If I laminate the pictures, will that ruin them? Do you have any other ideas on how I could put it together? I don't have the money to do it online or at the store, so I'm on my own this time. But she lives so far away for the school year, I thought this would be nice.

I do have a laminating machine that has a cold setting on it.

If you just want them to last the year for a calendar, they will probably be okay. If you want to "preserve" them, by all means - do NOT laminate them. Over time, they will break down worse than under almost any other circumstances.

As long as you aren't using a heat set laminate, it is fine. Laminating pictures does not ruin them.
I think its a nice idea...a very nice one. What a sweet thought...touching to see someone still believes in making a gift!

lamintating pictures will ruin them only if you try to un-laminate them. If they are printed on photo paper, it won't affect the way the picture looks. It also won't come out all wrinkly like if you used glue on them.

just remember to get archival lamination if you can as regular stuff contains acids that will yellow your print after a while.

i wouldn't suggest laminating pictures, just put the pictures on some nice photo paper that is suitable for the calander. I think that the laminating would look cheap, and the reflection would be distracting.

Visit spectrumsoftware.com and look at the kits they offer. You'll need a good color printer though.

Ask if the laminate material is of archival quality.

I think it would be the highlight of their day. And since this is such an important matter, I think you should ask for the manager as soon as you walk in.
