I have 4 photos of my grandkids that are stuck to the glass. I'm moving them to a different frame but their stuck and I don't want to damage them. they're early grade school pictures and can;t be replaced. Any solutions? Thank you!

Place the photo with the glass in a bath of warm water with a little dish detergent mixed in. Do NOT pull the photo loose, wait for the water to soak completely thru the photo and it will slide off. You can then hang it to dry. When you next frame it, be sure there is a space between the photo and the glass by using a mat around the photo. Hope this helps.

How To Unstick Photos

Great answer.

BUT!

Keep in mind that older photo's may let go of the picture. It will actually start floating on a very thin layer of water on top of the paper. If you were to touch it you would ruin the photograph.

You have to let the material do all the work. Do not tress or haste anything. Gently lift the photograph from the water (face up) and put it in a dry towel. Just let it sit there until dry.

If it's a newer print make sure it's not from a printer, it's unlikely if it's a professional print...otherwise I think the first 2 answers covered it....when you reframe be sure to use a frame with a mat to avoid a repeat.

I would take it to Michaels, or any other frame shop, and have them treat it with a product called Un-Du, which is formulated to provide a temporary release for adhesives and emulsions.

When you have it safely removed, make sure you mat it before framing it again, to prevent the emulsion from touching the glass.

Scan them just in case. Then use petrol cigarette lighter fuel to loosen them.
