''This 60cm*60cm outstanding handmade painting is kind of a Persian Art called ‘Miniyator’. The style of this painting is very similar to the style of Persian carpets. This specific painting took about 5 months to be completed. The whole painting has many stages. First the basic style should be drawn. there are some coping and pasting on the pasteboard. The colors for this paiting are natural colors made by hand. It has some distinguished parts which are covered by gold papers. The flowers in the paiting are very small and took months to be completed. This beautiful painting will fit any luxurial house.''

I want to draw on colored and gray-scale paper with charcoal and pastel. However, all the paper I see is sold by the sheet at more than $1 for a sheet of 18 X 24! Strathmore had some pads of colored paper, but the price was far too high. Canson Colorline Art Papers are a little cheaper, but appear to be more for rough crafts and less for drawing on.

Can anyone recommend some colored drawing paper, possibly in the form of a spiral drawing pad, that is cost-effective for someone who wants to experiment with drawing on color?

Colors I'm most interested include muted earth tones, demure blues, and gray scale.

I've seen paper proudly proclaim it is acid-free, and heard that one should avoid storing artwork against acidic surfaces or even TOUCHING the paper with one's fingers during the drawing process, blending with tissue paper instead of fingers. This last one especially bothers me, since I often use my fingers for blending.

What happens to a drawing that is exposed to acidic paper and skin? Does it get blotchy? Do the colors change? Can anyone provide a before-and-after image of a drawing that has changed due to acidity?

I have a photograph by Alfred S. Campbell that has a 1901 copyright, and I am trying to find some information about it, the web has been useless, rather I have been unable to find the right search terms if there is something on the web. The photograph is of a boy in coveralls walking on a dirt road with a fishing pole over one shoulder and a basket in the other hand. The photo has been colorized. Any info would be greatly appreciated, specifically I am trying to determine if it has any value.
