I'm a graphic designer by trade, and of the galleries that I've gone to, the digital art displays seem to get less attention than, say, an oil painting of a rock. I feel that just as much effort, technique and talent is necessary to produce high-quality digital art as mainstream art, so shouldn't it get as much attention?

People think of photography as a routine mechanical thing they sometimes do on holiday (or at parties with their mobile phone). This is a real pity. It is a bit like regarding painting as something routine or low level because as an activity it forms part of home decorating, or because the last time you did it you were at primary school!

The range of cheap cameras with brilliant optics, the advent of digital technology, and the wide spread of image manipulation software means that all can cheaply take up the tools and create! That so few, relatively speaking, actually do much more than record they were 'there' at some holiday locale seems to me to be a real pity, and to be a direct consequence of an unwillingness to accept that creativity is not confined to horse-hair brushes and chisels, but flows from the brain and the eye!

I have a lot of negatives of photos from my predigital camera days. Is there any company that can put these onto a CD so I can put the photographs on to my computer. Asked Boots but they dont do it.

We are called "Leather Addiction", and play hard rock/metal in Kalamazoo, MI. I was wondering if any of you needed the practice (or just wanted to do it for fun) of designing a cool logo for our band. Sorry, we can't pay you, but we'll be happy to include your name on our demo if we use your art for it, and on our website
Check out our myspace page, www.myspace.com/leatheraddiction

Thank you very much in advance and any help is greatly appreciated!

I am trying to put varnish on a print that has already been mounted to wood. Everytime I have put the varnish on there are bubbles that form. They are mounted so all of the paper is adhered to the board yet bubbles still form. Do I need to use a special varnish? Is there a trick to this?

maybe I'd send my CV to Bernini, da Vinci, Rubens, van Gogh, Schiele, Duchamp, Dali.. Okay, I'm being greedy. lol.

I'd go for Sir Peter Paul Rubens! Have always been a great admirer of his works.. I love his strokes, so smooth & gentle & tender, I almost fell in love with all his models! :))) But well perhaps I should go for Piet Mondrian, I'd like to understand his works better, as right now I can't really understand what's behind those squares of colours.

Alright. So now, tell me your answers!! :)
