I think that what you are looking for is called a capture software. I have heard that Olympus makes it for its cameras, but I am not sure of the cameras it supports. Most capture software links your computer directly to your camera so that you bypass your cards. And also, they are mostly designed for professional or higher end cameras so you may have to spend alot more money for both the software and a new camera system.

If using your camera by remote control to take many photographs of birds you are, presumably, seeking to have a second lead snaking away to your PC which is regularly and directly uploading your images?

To be honest I do not know if this set-up is available for your camera but, in any event, I imagine it is unnecessary!

First off, for most cameras you can get memory cards up to 8Gb in capacity. Even at a high resolution this is a lot of images!

Secondly, if you have a lead from the camera to your PC, even if it is in fact recording to the memory card, you can simultaneously be uploading the images from your card to the PC and erasing the original images on the card. You could do this periodically, controlling matters from the PC. The images would then not be filling the card.

There are wireless transmitters for some of the higher end cameras, I don't think they make any for Olympus though. There not cheep! An 2 gig card should do ya.
I do believe that Olympus cameras have a USB connector, check with there desk and see if you can run a USB cable?

joe the memory card is the only portable device on which to store your photos. but once the photos are on the card then there are several options for getting them onto a computor including an external memory. and some cameras have a lead which if you dwonload a small program you will be able to use a wire to put the photos on your computor

No, not with most cameras.

They have a small amount of flash ram that is faster than the cards. this ram is used to capture the data from the CCD matrix.

The processor will then transfer the image to the card in its own time.

It would require a re-write of the microcode in the SCProcessor...Good luck !
