"We clamor about on life's contradictions trying to get somewhere and not fall, dragging our chosen bundle."

I have to have a one page response to this quote, and honestly, I can't even think of one sentence.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To be skeptical 99% of the time, or to be open minded 99% of the time. Which based on circumstances is more probable that the skeptical or open minded will turn out to be true? For example, many people say they believed they were abducted by aliens, naturally, one person will be skeptical, and another person would be open to believing...Considering all the facts that is presented day by day, what are the chances that being skeptical or opened mind would turn out to be true, or a correct decision?

Few people that I know of are able to see the beauty in the macabre, like in the gothic poems and classic horror stories from writers such as Edgar Allan Poe, Dante and alike. I will grant that many like these stories due to there being classics however not many that I know of show any indication of the appreciation of the beauty of the dark and macabre art form.

Is this an accurate assessment?

What do you think that it means to see beauty in tales such as The Inferno, The Raven, and The Child in the Grave?

Can these stories teach our modern day society any lessons? And if so what?

Please explain your answers.

I thank you in advance for your insight.

If you really think about it, isn't the concept of white-lying a bit arrogant, in fact a lot arrogant?

The way I understand it the idea of a white lie is to protect the other person from emotional harm. Right? Well, doesn't that require knowing exactly what the other person is thinking along with being able to predict the future?

I certainly can't do either of those things, and I'm a megalomaniac.

I think at one level most of us can accept that the truth will most likely come out eventually anyway, as it indeed does. I think that most people would also accept that when that truth does emerge later, it is much more embarrassing ADDING to the emotional damage but yet we can't seem to rid ourselves of our inability to take this into account when we are making up our lies.

What do you think?

My hair is naturally a dirty blondeish color, and I've recnetly started to dye my hair every few months. All the dyes look right on the box, but both blonde and brunette dyes alike seem red on me.

What medium-brown dyes are there that won't make my hair red?

What ingredient in the dye makes blonde and brown dyes look red?

Would rats mourn our loss?

My guess is it would not be a very significant event. We may prove to be far less precious than we like to believe. If we befall a nuclear holocaust, what about the rats? On nuclear test sites on islands in the Pacific, rats have amazingly re-inhabited places that are inhospitable to people. Now I think the rats would miss us dearly. We provide food and shelter for them and often make life more comfortable them with our structures and food production. Ravens, rock doves, cockroaches, house cats and the like would miss us dearly. We'd best be careful or we will be dearly missed by those species, though our demise would be cause for celebration by many others. Would the universe care? Wouldn't it continue the experiment or perhaps give up on life forms? God aside, imagine our deity would be disappointed.

"A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death." Albert Einstien

What does it mean for those that had it to be that god sets down the laws by which to run life? Are they wrong?

Is this a better system than relying or religion to tell us what is right and what is wrong?

Does the power of this statement come from the fact that it was said by a respected figure?

Please xplain your answers.

i dont know what to beleive. but doesnt the thought of there being a god and an after life kind of contradict this dimention in what we know as reality?? i mean if you think about it it seems like we are talking about a science fiction movie. but at the same time, we are here. so how can something so opposite coexist with eachother? when ever i beleive in an afterlife i fell that if thats real then how is this dimention real? and if i dont beleive in an after life then it makes me question how the physical dimention got here in the first place. and with these thoughts it has me in a loop and makes me feel like im on an acid trip or as if im in some bizzare dream.

with this in mind, i am constantly obssessing over this and cant get it out of my head. i am always doubting my reality, and it makes me anxious and even depressed to think that my loved ones dont even exist.
