i dont exactly know how to say or put it. it does sound stupid, but i've been told there's no stupid question except the one you dont ask. anyways i'm 14, i'm a girl, and i'm in 9th grade. i dont care about the latest fashions and all that stuff and i dont have an interest in the shows on tv. what i am interested in though is philosophy, how things work, how we got here and all sorts of things like that. but i cant talk to anyone about that, because no one my age i know is interested in that. and it's hard for me to enjoy converstations and things because i can never talk about what i like. and people think it's weird i'm interested in things like this at only 14. and idk what to do.

I was asked this question in my phylosophy class once. Don't just answer "to pay bills" or "because we have to." THINK about it. Curious to read the responses and award 10 pts!

Is curiosity something you have to develop and be conscious of or something more instinctive, like a reflex? If so, what would trigger a person to ask a question? Why would someone wonder why the sky is blue but not ask why the dirt is brown? If it's not, if it's something you are consciously aware of then how do you go about making yourself ask questions?

Me and my boy decided to get married.

We are working on relocating me to where he lives. We haven't set a date or anything in till we know we have a place to live and have the things we need.

I want to set the date but i don't want to push the subject with my fiance because we have so much going on at the moment.

Last night for no reason....i dreamed that he told me " We have to start getting the wedding plans ready"

Does it mean anything? i have been working on getting a job and looking into purchasing a home so i haven't really been thinking about the plans for the wedding. Well another reason why is because we don't have much $$$$ to do a wedding to our liking so i kind of just put it in the backburner for the moment.

His mom also had a dream of her 14yr niece getting married in two occasions. her niece lives overseas and she hasn't met her. Any meaning on this one?

All "knowledge" stems from other peoples knowledge which stems from others and so forth.....original thought is the key. We HAVE NO original thought simply due to the basic premise of ones original thought. Whoever had that original thought is a lucky sod.....we.....we're all plagiarists.

I want to read some philosophy but the likes of Immanuel Kant and Friedrich Nietzche are just getting too tedious for the time being. I need someone like Douglas Adams or Hunter S. Thompson, but I've read most of their works. Plus they weren't really philosophers per se.

So is there anything out that's a little linguistically easier to grasp, and possibly has some humorous add-ons?

and should god be disproved, how many of the faithful would laugh, how many of the atheists would cry?

look at my other questions I asked because people would say they would save the child first then the parent so I wonder because as an athiest I don't have any reason to prioritize one over the other, who would greive more for the other ? Its easy to say well the child would have a longer life to live than the mother but as an athiest how can that mean anything because life and its lenth can't have any bearing in terms of death if you no longer exist so isn't it about the quality of life? I'm not actually an atheist I'm agnostic so I guess if it was me based on that assuming I could stop time to make the decision that the child theoretically could possibly take the experiences of his/hers life with him to an after life and looking at it scientifically you might say that its possible that as time is relative that the lives we lead will always exist in time witch is confusing as we are only ever aware of our present conciousness. LOL I have no more space for this.

who else thinks that all it means is that we are closer to the end of the world, seriously, God says the earth will be destroyed, why would he let us inhabit another planet? all that means to me is that we're near zero hour.
