i dont exactly know how to say or put it. it does sound stupid, but i've been told there's no stupid question except the one you dont ask. anyways i'm 14, i'm a girl, and i'm in 9th grade. i dont care about the latest fashions and all that stuff and i dont have an interest in the shows on tv. what i am interested in though is philosophy, how things work, how we got here and all sorts of things like that. but i cant talk to anyone about that, because no one my age i know is interested in that. and it's hard for me to enjoy converstations and things because i can never talk about what i like. and people think it's weird i'm interested in things like this at only 14. and idk what to do.

A lot of intelligent people feel this kind of isolation. Maybe you could find some sort of club to join, maybe at the public library or school, or a debating society. You're very fortunate these days to have the Internet as a medium of communications. You can discuss things with people all over the world, and nobody will judge you because of your age. Don't give up, you'll find others like you, and don't let them get you down with their superficiality.
A word of advice, if I may be so presumptuous. Your writing style makes you sound like an adolescent. If you want people to take you seriously, you have to use proper capitalization and punctuation.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm 18, and I've always been very curious and asked a lot of questions. Even now I feel as though I think on a different level then many of my peers. Some of them seem very immature and shallow.

I've researched many topics: Science, Religion, History, Philosophy, Politics, etc. I'm always trying to learn about anything I can to broaden my picture of the world. I also often take my life into perspective, and think about who I am, what I am, why I'm here, who I will be. It's a little scarey sometimes.

I'm not sure what advice to give you. My quest for knowledge has kind of skewed my outlook on life. Just be careful. There is stuff that I wish I had never seen or read about. There are many beautiful things in this world, but there are also a lot of disgusting, dark things as well.

Don't be ashamed though. It's human nature to want to know about things and knowledge is a very powerful tool.

I think you're an amazing 14 year old! I would never have known your age level if you hadn't mentioned it. You have been gifted with a maturity level far beyond your years (and most people older than you, too)! You can get an outlet for your thoughts on this site. High school is not the place for philisophical thinking, I know, but as you get to the Grade 11-12 level, you might find some students who think like you. I think you have an excellent head on your shoulders, and your feet are planted in the right direction. Good luck--I wish I had your maturity at 14.

It's great to ponder all the mysteries of life. It's great to have an enquiring mind and a desire to ask the questions that fine minds have pondered, but you should also be sure to find other things that are fun and interesting to you, too. Maybe things like science, etc. will interest you as you mentioned you like to know how things work.

I think that if you introduce the right questions, some of your friends might very well be asking themselves some of the questions you have been asking yourself. They might not be as interested in it as you are, but they might have different insights to share and might not speak about it without a little prompting.

I didn't find anything you said stupid, but I guess I'm left wondering what your real question is. I'm thinking you think you are different or strange and that simply isn't so. You're unique, as we all are and it's our differences that make us interesting people. However, sometimes our fear of being thought of as "weird" sets us up to isolate ourselves and I think that would be a shame.

I think you'll find, if you're open to people, that many, many people question our existence and enjoy discussing it even though they have other interests too.

well you are young but doesn;t mean you wont be able to have a speak your mind with your peers.. not sure but if you haven't spoke to any of your friends about your interest how do you know there wouldn't be interested talking about those types of things, ( they could be like you not sure to say certain things cause they thing they might sound weird) but if you have maybe trying different things to meet new people like going to the library/workshops even search on-line for things to do in your area,, good luck and also as your get older you will see that you need to be yourself no matter what you think people might think ( just be your self )

Yes, that's brilliant.

I was a bit similar in high school (it was a very small school), but I had a couple geek friends to talk to. I wrote. Wrote in journals, wrote poems.

And you must read. Read all the philosophy you can muster. By the time you get to a place full of philosophers (college), you'll be an amazing expert. Things are good after high school. I guarantee it. In the meantime ... perhaps after-school chat with a teacher or two? I adored talking with my high school teachers.

Seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened unto you. I had the same problem only i was much older, I searched for 12 years, then I prayed directly to God, please send me a teacher. He sent me a teacher from india. A Siddha yoga Guru, Swami Muktananda Paramahamsa, he taught the same things as jesus but with much more clarity. Mostly vedanta philosophy. See syda.org/theguru , Swami Chidvilasananda, She is a living Saint with the power to baptize with spirit and with fire, the same as Jesus, there are many Saints on earth now with this power. Open a chat room (if you are allowed), there are other people your age who are interested in that (like me), but they are hard to find. They are probably outcasts (not that you are or are not), because they don't have much in common with other kids. You could try talking to some new people in you school, get out of your comfort zone and you will almost certainly be rewarded.

Nothing dumb or stupid about that. You are a deep thinker and want to know why things are they way they are. Go to your counselor in school or to a well liked teacher and explain what you are feeling and and what your interests are and maybe they would have some suggestions for classes to take or groups in the community where you can meet with people that have like ideas.

i admire the place youre going with this, i pass college plenty. regularly if u pass to ur mom nd say u dont sense properly, she shud enable united statesa. off college . If she doesnt enable u say youll be little need in college besides because of the fact your feeling ill, and you wont be waiting to concentration.it works extra powerful in case you're saying sense ill the night b4 so it doesnt arouse suspicion. Failing that, what ive performed a pair of situations is pretend notes from my mum and dad that are writen by utilising acquaintances asserting i replaced into ill the day gone by and didnt are available in. Howver ive been caught as quickly as and replaced into in deep truble so i wouldnt advise it, basically a final hotel. I dont quite have the different innovations, the ill trick is the ideal i fink. besides reliable success, desire it works! Elle, South dakota xxxxxxx
