"It is natural for humans to fear what they do not understand. So to be brave or courageous is to attempt to understand our surroundings." -Kimberly Connolly

Do you agree?

I recently read an article written by a philosophy professor that attempts to prove/disprove the existence of the supernatural. He uses the following example--consider the following statements:

all swans are white

all perceived swans are white

He then asks the following questions to enhance his argument

Which one is true? Can we assume that all swans are white without physically observing each individual swan? How do we account for the swans we don't see? Can we discount the existence of all non-white swans simply because we don't see them?

My question to you: is this a reasonable argument for the existence of the supernatural? Do we tend not to believe in something simply because we can't physically see it? In other words, should we rely on logic and reason to explain supernatural phenomena?

occam's razor states that the simplest explanation tends to be the correct explanation. in the case of big bang cosmology, which is the simpler explanation, that our universe is a by-product of another dying universe (a multiverse) or that an eternal entity, a first cause, created it?

Take Adam and Eve, they were nude and happy and did not know what sin was (they were ignorant) but Eve's defiance and sin by eating of the forbidden fruit revealed to her that she was nude and felt the need to cover herself and soon Adam fell too into sin they ran from God and everything went downhill. If they had obeyed they would have lived in paradise for their entire lives in ignorance but happiness but since they disobeyed it resulted being cast out of paradise and forced to make their own living in the harsh world. So is Ignorance truly bliss?

the earth moves around the sun, the sun around the centre of the galaxy, and perhaps the galaxy itself around some unknown point in the universe. since any perceptible body is in fact undergoing all these motions simultaneously, can it be that man is also undergoing past present and future, all the dimentions of time, simultaneously without being conscious of it?
