Bc they, the people you are referring to, can't listen to images or to texts. And also because they prefer listening to music than to any other sound (with no harmony, melody, tonality).

And also because music, at least, the most of them, brings some sayings, some good teachings.

Also because music is art and it is a good thing to have touch with.

We can learn a lot about personality by looking at everyday life, and music preference is just one facet of everyday life
People who listen to "reflective and complex" music, for example, score highly on openness to new experiences, verbal ability, self-perceived intelligence and political liberalism, while people who listen to "upbeat and conventional" music score highly on extraversion, self-perceived physical attractiveness, athleticism and political conservatism.

First, people choose to listen to music that suits their moods and activities. People who enjoy spending time with others, people who enjoy talking and socializing, tend to enjoy music that is also extraverted--in some ways, party music.

People also use music to inform others about themselves. Adolescents, in particular, use music as a way to fit into groups, as a way to manage people's impressions of them

You are what you listen to

Communication w/ the universe. Music speaks and it listens too. Sound is too important to ignore, music too precious to want to ignore.

As a rabbit is alerted by a strange rustling or any other sonic sign of possible danger, which stimulates the nerves and triggers the release of natural drugs like adrenaline, a human being is affected by music.

Music can send shivers down your spine.

Some people listen to music because it is entertaining to them. They might also think that it has a good beat, or good words, or harmony. It's all up to them! Soem people might just not like it at all. (Which isn't that common)

Certain music creates vibration which may resonate with your internal, natural ones. That gives you feelings emerged from the depth of your core. There is music and its vibrations which just passing you through without affection...There is certain vibrations which collide with its opposite within you, creates dissonance...that music you avoid to listen....

gee, I don't know... it became such an unquestionable thing.... Well, it's like a way of relaxing I suppose... it may bring joy to a person... But then, maybe it just one of the things that differs us as animals from plants and non-living things. Music is LIFE!!!
