It isn't fair to use a word like 'worth' when talking about living, because it implies a certain sense of cost-benefit to the existence that we've all been given...As individuals we had nothing to do with being born (it was just given to us and is all we know) and we have nothing to do with the inevitability of death (because that IS the future for each of us) so we're left with analyzing this seemingly senseless bit that we are aware of: life. Like Garth Brook says in his song, 'that little dash there in between' is our only opportunity to definite who we are as unique amongst the multitude and allow those unique characteristics that we hold impact others. Be it through emotional, physical, or emotional contributions that last a moment or millenium, we each are faced with that daunting task because, quite frankly, what other task is there? All of the energy wrapped up in our universe and its ppl is not just a random coincidence, and just because we don't see the full scale of it's plan doesn't mean we don't have a responsibility to fulfill our role in it since we were given the gift of being here to witness it...

As far as the bonus is considered: the fact you got up this morning, and were willing to put in the effort as a sign of appreciation for the potential of the day you'd been given today (even more so for you personally because you took that day as a chance to better understand these lives we've been given), is an accomplishment that those who have already left or haven't come yet are incapable of....Congratulations, you have accomplished the feat of experiencing June 28, 2006 like no one else ever can or could! What more can you ask for but that?

Yes we will die, when the moment comes to mark our end. There are millions of people who were born, lived an accomplished life, made some actual difference, went into the history books and then died. Would u rather feel and enjoy the godd with the bad or just be nothing. I don't think Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, Ghandi, or Plato would agree with u. To life there's living.

Now if r worried about what comes afterlife, then maybe u should use logic in another way to find true meaning of life.

Of course life is worth living or else we would NOT be born.

The expression 'born to die' is a dark expression that leaves out the middle part - which is living. We are born to live. We die AFTER we have lived.

Each and everyone of us accomplish something important by just BEING.

Yes, if you have even one unselfish cell in your body. If we are born to die, we live, that we can live. However, living for our own sake alone makes no sense if our own life is it and nothing follows; compared to infinity, individuals are as nothing. Even living for the sakes of our fellow man makes little sense; many individuals are also as nothing. However, living for the sake of our children's children's children, for the whole future, can make sense; an infinite amount of individuals is something. We will all die, but when we die we leave a legacy behind; that legacy can help or hinder others long after we are gone. We should live for the life of the future, to perpetuate ourselves to infinity, if possible. And who today can say that our millionth-generation descendants won't still be around and kicking?

So, we live for the future. How? Hedonism and selfishness doesn't help them, so the self-absorbed, day-working, bong-toking, normal guys and gals are meaningless. Politics might help, but might also harm, and laws, borders, and nations are all transitory, so even the likes of Ceaser and Hitler are irrelevant in the big picture. Art only makes sense through a certain perspective, which we can't say our descendants will share (heck, I don't like the music that was written only 200 years ago!), so Elvis is a nobody.

The one thing that carries the same utility throughout the eons is a bit of knowledge. So, scientists and inventors are the people who accomplish the only things of value. We understand ourselves and our world better and we're able to exploit our knowledge to make our lives less unpleasant. Knowledge also builds on knowledge, so the scientists working today pave the way for those tomorrow.

Life is totally worth living whether or not we are born to die. We must put the value on life or we are doomed to feeling doomed. A life well lived is the ultimate accomplishment.

We are in a fatalistic period of time, when there's a total assault on reality, or i should say the 'rose-colored' reality of religion and hope. This is nothing less than the greatest crisis of humanity, in my humble opinion.

The idea of value destruction and cosmic purposelessness seems to be the only true meaning of life. With that kind of attitude, there seems to be no hope. The patterns of nihilism and so much "lack of worth" in the world as you state, seem to be conspicuous features of collapsing civilizations.

In a thousand years, our accomplishments will be lost to oblivion, no one will even know that you were around, unless you become a hitler, alexander the great or Achilles. But even in a hundred thousand years, those names will also be dust.....

In case of a butterfly the pupa's life is over - but a beautiful butterfly is born.

We cannot accomplish anything as true except few eternal truths. Even those may go wrong. It can happen that the sun doesn't rise in the east one day.

So the true and false are our judgement as on that time based on our knowledge. Winner is a winner because his enemy is weak.

*Affecting Yoda's voice* A lot of angst in question I see, hmm...
To answer your first question, what is life worth living had we NOT lived? To live is to experience the "journey" that lies ahead, the "journey" is up to each individual on how they choose their path in life AND that's what makes life worth living!
Death is NOT always the solution, there is more to life if you look hard enough only then you'll find your answers.
On your second question... you need to be more specific/ rephrase it better. What exactly did you imply by "true?" Are you simply referring to goals/ dreams/ hopes?
Well why not? I believe that if anyone puts their mind to it (their goals) it's possible to achieve anything the sky's the limit, they say.

We are all born to live, live as long as we live in the real sense of living. Whatever we feel an accomplishment within the available resources/limitation, yes it is accomplishment!
