Or jumped in a puddle? Or picked a flower just to smell it? What little things do you like to do that make you smile? Stuff that nobody really pays attention to in life. I'm curious to see what people do when they're feeling down. Or things you do when you're happy, just to be happier. Does anybody like to just sit back and enjoy life for a few minutes out of your hectic schedules? Or does America not believe in that anymore....

i wrote another poem, for english again.
i wanna know if it's good enough...or if i need to change something...

"A river, see how it flows
That’s how our life goes

You’ll be stuck, that’s no doubt
But that’s what our life is all about

Your journey in this river will have turns
Which one to take, that’s of your concern

You can change your course
But will take an awful life of force

Life can be sour, or it can be sweet
It’s your life, and it’s how you make it"

sorry, still an amateur...=)

For the past couple of months, I've had to volunteer with my school's basketball team to act as their mascot for games. Whenever they need me to, I come in a giant suit of armor ready to go. So, my question to you is what are some ideas or advice you have for me on acting around people or officials while I'm the mascot. I would also accept ideas for any mascot skits as well. If there is anyone who is in the same spot as I am, that would really help.

Okay, I don't doubt this will bring out the silly brigade. But in the hope of getting a genuine answer to a genuine question here goes.
Why is the toilet refered to a the "loo"?
When did this slang word begin use.

I work as a supervisor in a manufacturing factory. I always have to pass on information and give instructions to the workers as well as train them. On the other hand they have to report their job to me in paper form and in speech. Inside the factory, there are a lot of deaf workers. I find a difficulty to communicate with them effectively. Of course I don't know sign language. Some of them are very low educated or even never attend to any former school. They cannot understand any kind of language even their own mother tongue. Thus I can't even write those information on a piece of paper to let them know my notices. I never look down on them or refuse to communicate with them. May be some of them feel inferior about themselves, they refuse to communicate and cooperate with me. I want to treat them friendly instead of using my authority to force them to do the jobs. Can anybody tell me how to communicate with those deaf workers effectively?

Answering a question the other day, I realised that I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on the subject. So...
Cast your mind back across the 20th century and think of an art form. Theatre, dance, film, fine art, music - classical / popular - comedy, the novel, you name it, and see if you can think of leading figures in that medium. Easy, isn't it?
Now think of those same mediums today and think of any great leading figures who are still working at the height of their powers. Hard, isn't it?
I suppose my question is in three parts.
!. Do you agree with my proposition?
2. If so, what's going on here?
3. Does it matter? I would argue that it does. The works of, say, Picasso, Olivier, the Beatles, Brando etc. were important in and of themselves, but just as important was the effect they had on other artists working in their mediums.
I'd even apply this idea to other areas of life. Politics, sport, science;choose your own.
Let me know what you think on this.
Thanks.

Be creative. None of this flying or leaping over small cities in single bounds crap. I want something unexpectedly useful. Even if it doesn't rid the world of evil. I need a good idea for a short story and I want it to be kind of funny. Best answer gets my 10 points.
