Bang goes the gun,
another bullet towards your shatered heart.
If another one hits your heart will be a million pieces,
ill have to glue it up to make your heart full again.
No one hits you again,
but your brain is weak your going down again.
I pick you up and take you home,
but you dont cry,
even though your in crying pain, that makes you ashamed!

We say sometimes this is a great photograph, a great drawing, a great poem, why do we say that? What defines these things as being "good"?

Love's Lacking Cry

I never thought I'd have to push and shove,
just for a bit of my father's love.
He never called me 'Daddy's little girl",
Never spun me in a childish twirl.
He never read me a tale from my favorite story book,
Never helped me make a clubhouse in a small corner nook.
He never danced with me in the rain,
Never kissed away the pain.
He never took me to the rink to skate,
But now its too late.

He never crossed the street, and held my hand tight,
never chased away the monsters in the middle of the night.
He never looked at me in awe with pride,
never came to comfort me when I cried.
So how come I feel his arms around me,
after he's died?

Hi I really need to know what this poem means because i dont understand it - please help me!

Break, break, break
On thy cold grey stones, O Sea!
And I would that my tongue could utter
The thoughts that arise in me.

O well for the fisherman's boy,
That he shouts with his sister at play!
O well for the sailor lad,
That he sings in his boat on the bay!

And the stately ships go on
To their haven under the hill;
But O for the touch of a vanished hand,
And the sound of a voice that is still!

Break, break, break
At the foot of thy crags, O Sea!
But the tender grace of a day that is dead
Will never come back to me.

its a poem called break break break and its by lord alfred tennyson
thanks

Proper names are supposed to be capitalized -- like Steve, Kate, Mars, etc. Yet almost NO ONE ever capitalizes Earth. When you write 'How on Earth...?' you are talking about a place, like London or Rome. Shouldn't it be capitalized?

He LOVES art and sports. He says he wants to be an artist when he grows up. He has taken some art classes and has "Meet The Masters" at school. I'd love for him to love his room and want to show it to his new friends as we recently moved to a new area and he hasn't had any friends over yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would love any ideas for this assignment i have:

Write a scene where you develop a character through dialogue and description with another character in the form of a confrontation. Example: a white male in his 30's living in a San Francisco Hispanic ghetto believes he was a native American in a past life. Suddenly, on the streets, he encounters Joe Stops, a 6'3", 250-pound Crow Indian from a reservation in Montana . Stops is touring the country, promoting his book, White Lies , White Faces , and helping to organize indigenous peoples in the cities.

Be sure to blend dialogue and description in your scene.

To a Mouse, On Turning up Her Nest with a Plough
by Robert Burns (1759 - 1796)
Wee sleekit, cowrin, tim'rous beastie,
O, what a panic's in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
Wi' bickering brattle!
I wad be laith to rin an' chase thee,
Wi' murd'ring pattle!

I'm truly sorry man's dominion
Has broken nature's social union,
An' justifies that ill opinion
Which makes thee startle
At me, thy poor earth-born companion,
An' fellow-mortal!

I doubt na, whiles, but thou may thieve;
What then? poor beastie, thou maun live!
A daimen-icker in a thrave
'S a sma' request:
I'll get a blessin' wi' the lave,
And never miss't!

Thy wee bit housie, too, in ruin!
Its silly wa's the win's are strewin':
And naething, now, to big a new ane,
O' foggage green!
An' bleak December's winds ensuin'
Baith snell an' keen!

Thou saw the fields laid bare and waste
An' weary winter comin' fast,
An' cozie here, beneath the blast,
Thou thought to dwell,
Till, crash! the cruel coulter past
Out thro' thy cell.

That wee bit heap o' leaves an' stibble
Has cost thee mony a weary nibble!
Now thou's turn'd out, for a' thy trouble,
But house or hald,
To thole the winter's sleety dribble
An' cranreuch cauld!

But, Mousie, thou art no thy lane
In proving foresight may be vain:
The best laid schemes o' mice an' men
Gang aft a-gley,
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promised joy.

Still thou art blest, compared wi' me!
The present only toucheth thee:
But, oh! I backward cast my e'e
On prospects drear!
An' forward , tho' I canna see,
I guess an' fear!
