I would visit my dead father when he was in college. I miss him so and think that he was probably a lot of fun at that stage in his life. He was just out of the army and going to a nice small town liberal arts college. I think sharing a few beers with the young man who would become the father would be quite illuminating.
if I was going to pick an historical period, it would be to witness the life of Christ to see if the reality matches the history.

If I could watch a time period, rather than living in it, I'd LOVE to see how cities evolved from the first cave men banding together to the urban places they became.
But if I had to live somewhere, I'd like to live in the far future. The past doesn't appeal to me -- I like indoor plumbing and air conditioning! I would love to see if the human race evolves into the great people I know we could be...
Of course, the ideas of going back a month or so and writing down the winning lottery numbers does sound appealing...

I don't really know why but the fifties after the war appeals to me. Probably because of the camaraderie between people. Noone had much more than anyone else, and the values when growing up seemed different. Maybe I've read things through rose tinted glasses. Oh location? An urban area in England.

I'd love to see dinosaurs walking the earth, when man first discovered fire, when the great pyramids and the sphinxs were built, i would also like to see the Roman Empire, and watch the great wall of China being built. loads of things even for just a day of each.

I would go back to the beginning of the creation of the universe and prove what happened in the big bang, or whether it did or didn't happen just to change the world.
I would buy winning lottery tickets in all major lotteries then make huge bets on sports and invest tons of money into stocks, I wouldn't stop until I ruled the planet, once I did rule the planet I would go back in time and kill the person who invented the machine and steal all of his work and teach my past self everything so I was the sole owner.
Depends on which version of time altering you believe in.

i plan to make time travel possible. it's going to take a degree in physics and loads of qualifications, but i think i can get round it.
the first place i would visit would be just before Richard III's reign, so i could find out who killed the princes in the tower, then i'd just go around solving the mysterys of time. like dinosaurs being warm/cold blooded.
good question.

This is too easy.
Id visit 26/05/07 one month from now and quickly jot down all the winning lottery numbers and horses that finished first with odds over 20/1.
Life would be rosy when I got back...!
