I'm writing a paper on how the emergence of early US political parties--Federalists and Democratic-Republicans--helped to promote democracy in the US.

I've got about half my paper done, but I'm fresh out of examples to use to prove my point. Can anyone think of an example from this time period (from the Revolution up until the end of Jefferson's term) to help prove my point?

Englands legacy-

Englands glorious revolution and the bill of rights that it produced had a great impact. English citizens were guaranteed the rule of law, perliamentary government, individual liberties, and a constitutional monarchy. This completed a process begun with the magna Carta. The Bill of Rights also set an example for england's American Colonists when they considered grievances against Britain nearly 100 years later. These Precedents, along with the ideas of the Enlightenment, would give rise to democratic revolutions in America and France in the late 18th century.

thats what is in my history book ...i don't get it-at all..the vocab is way to high for me..haha..can you summerize it so its easier to understand?? thank you!

Manoralism:
Manoralism was a system closley linked with feudelism and the Lord and Vassal system during the middle ages. The lord was in charge of both the land itself and of protecting it. The serfs were in charge of working the land with part of the crop going to the lord and just enough going to the serf to sustain themselves. The lord in turn paid tribute to the lord or king above him. It is based on an agricultural society and was self-sustaining.

The Prophetic Revolution is another name for the rise of monotheism in the form of Judaism. It was a slow evolution from polytheism to monotheism between 1500 and 600 BCE. It led to the formation of Ancient Israel and Judah. This monotheism led the way for Christianity, Islam and other monotheistic religions.
