"Alexander Bain (October 1811 – January 2, 1877), was a Scottish instrument inventor, technician, and clockmaker. He invented the electric clock, the electric printing telegraph, and the first fax machine. Bain installed the railway telegraph lines between Edinburgh and Glasgow."

Martin Cooper (born December 26, 1928 in Chicago) is considered the father of the cell phone (as distinct from the car phone). [1] Cooper is the CEO and founder of ArrayComm, a company that works on researching smart antenna technology and improving wireless networks, and was the Corporate Director of Research and Development for Motorola. He received his degree in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1950 and received his master's degree from the same institution in 1957."
