Any kind of history: martial, religious, cultural, artistic or technological histories interest me, although I'm open to anything that you might suggest if you pitch it to me in the right way!

It seems to me that at school, we only learnt about history from one perspective. Surely, history is about what normal people did, not just the actions of governments and kings? Just a thought!

I'd say the Teletubbies. I hate those damn bloated, little fetuses.

Damn the Crown for giving the world that atrocity!

I am a 5th grade teacher. Our class recently read Number the Stars about the German occupation during WWII and the extermination of Jews. Obviously this book was really toned down for their age level. Now these guys are really excited and want to learn more. I have assigned each of them a topic from WWII, Now we are trying to find some websties that they can use that are not too graphic.

I want them to learn more about what happened without it being over their heads or too grousem. I would appreciate your help.

I vaguely seem to remember reading that a pet bear had been adopted by an artillery regiment and was trained to help load shells for the artillery pieces. Is this true or first a figment of my imagination?
