As the story goes, the cause of the Boston Tea Party was the rise in taxes by the British Parliment and taxation without representation. This is taught in most history classes in elementary and high school (Unless you have a really good teacher that knows what their doing).
The acual reason for the Boston Tea Party is that the tea was too cheap. The Americans were smuggling tea into Boston and other cities. When British Parliment discovered this, they lowered the price of tea, it was so low that the smugglers were no longer making money. So the Sons of Liberty threw the crates of tea into the ocean as a protest of these low prices.
Columbus didn't sail across the world to prove the earth was round. Europeans in this time period already new earth was round. The lie that europeans thought the world was flat was made by Washington Irving. 15 people already discovered the Americas before Columbus. Columbus went to the Americas to gain wealth and exploit the Native americans for slave trade

Humans are so unpredictable than any other animal species on this planet. I can well imagine why we have been left alone from
other life forms. I'd say they are waiting for the day until we destroy
ourselves and needless to say re acquaint themselves with this wonderful planet. Whats left of it anyway

Write a thesis based essay on the Renaissance period. Create a thesis that relates to the impact of the Renaissance on the period from 1300-1600 or how it has impacted modern society. Use the following format: include an introductory paragraph that includes the main thesis. The main thesis should include a subject and an opinion. It should tell what you intend to prove in the essay. The essay must have at least 2 body paragraphs which include concrete details (facts ) and commentary (your opinion ). Finish with a concluding paragraph that restates the thesis and summarizes what should be learned from the essay.

This is for an AP euro assignment. I have a few themes and components, but I can't find much more. Detail is appreciated. Also, if you have any good web sites on Renaissance art analysis, that would be great! Who ever gives me the most detail by 10:00 tonight will win 10 pts! Thank you very much.

I don't buy the boilerplate answer that there have always been religious wars. I want a specific war, time, people, place and exactly what they fought over. Also, was there any resolution? I know that religion divides people but the wars I know about have been over something other than the content of faith.

During World War II, there was a plan to use poison gas on the Japanese soldiers waiting at Iwo Jima. The US would leak information that it possesed a "death ray" to explain how all the soldiers had died.
President Roosevelt vetoed the idea.
The US and Japan were the only two countries that had not banned the use of poison gas.
20,000 Americans died taking the island.
The Japanese were not expected to win, only to make it horribly expensive (in lives) for the US to win the island. The soldiers had been ordered to kill ten Americans before they died.
Using the above facts and your own experiences, please consider this.
Should the US have used poison gas at Iwo Jima?
