I think you may be referring to The Bible story of the wedding of Cana, where Jesus performed a miracle. They only had water to drink, so Jesus turned the water to wine, and all celebrated.

In Catholic and Episcopalian weddings, the wedded couple partake in communion (wafer represents bread/body of Christ; wine represents His blood), before the guests.
