Does anyone know where the name came from and what made it known til today? If you're guessing illegitimately then please don't answer. Don't tell me the 'Star of David' neither.

I live in Wales in the UK, and as far as I know, my mothers side of the family are all from the UK and my father was British too.

I've been trying to work out what group of people our blood-line origionated from, and I've heard that you can sometimes work this out just from physical appearance.

My fathers side of the family were all blonde-haired, and my mothers side are all either blonde or red-haired with blue eyes and very pale skin. We're also all quite short but unusually strong, both physically and mentally. My mother has a 'Roman' nose, but most of us have more button-noses.

Is it possible to trace this back to any group of people?

I have been doing genealogy searches on my father for over 3 yrs & managed to find one half sister in St.Louis,Mo.
Her mom refuses to talk about our father & no one else will say anything online or any of the genealogy sites with our surname.
It is like our family tree just went to firewood!
Lots of Pooles out there but none answer our call or claim any ties with us.
I found out our father died on Sept.12,1996 in Galveston,Texas, but is buried in Millwee Cemetary,in Seviere Co.Arkansas.
No brothers, sisters, children or wives will answer our call.
His name was Jerry M.(Milford or Medford)Poole.Said he was born in Mirando City,Texas in late 20's or early 30's.
He had family in St.Louis,Mo. & Port Aransas,Texas.
We don't care about inheritances or any of that, just family ties!
Thanks for any help.

My wife and her family have "family stories" about being related to Little Turtle, but no doc. proof. Are there any know living decendants to him that may be able to help link her family to his. Her family seems to think that a Clara Long is the link that puts them in his line. I am unable to get any info. from the Miami Indians in Indiana. They say they do not have this info. As well there are supposed indian relation that has the line but is unwilling to share? Again this is "rumor".

I am wondering if anyone knows of another theory, than
Siberians coming accross the land bridge as it froze over.
How do Native Americans feel about this theory?
Scientists find more info and have more questions.
The old saying "the more you know the more you dont know"
I wonder if they could have just developed as a seperate race
like Africans.
I realize this doesn't go along with modern science and theories.
They have uncovered evidence that Asian and Native American
Dna is alike.
Is this the only possibility?
I would like to hear your thoughts on this.

Hi, I am researching my family trees back and can't seem to find any more info earlier than 1650 in France. There doesn't seem to be any on the net? Anyone have any advice for doing it from Canada and also if I ever can travel to France to see any records there? I'd really appreciate any advice and also would be interested in hearing from historians or local people from either Besancon or Paris France. Those are the two towns of origin from my mother's and father's sides. Thanks!
