I am talking about serious fiction writing (no particular subgenre) that feature mostly writing majors/new fiction authors and not sleazy, amateurish fiction websites.

I've tried zoetrope.com, however in order to enter their contest you have to pay them.

I am a 13 year old and I'm looking for a good book to read. To give you an idea of my reading interests, i really like The Outsiders By S.E. Hinton, all of the Judy Blume books, and Sharon Creech books. I'd like to read some of the classics, too. Any suggestions?

I am really looking for good solutions or fantastic stories of how you broke your 'block'. Or if have heard another story, I would also love to know that one.

In few months I'll start studying the English language and literature at university. I suppose the first writer whose works I'll be reading is Geoffrey Chaucer. Is it difficult for reading? What do you think about "The Canterbury tales"? Thanks.

He Said/She Said

He said:
You can say it now,
As you’ve said it before
It does not change the fact
That I’ll always love you more.

Then she said:
You are very poetic
As it is very plain to see...
Yet the person who loves you more
Would definitely be me...

So he said:
A poem is a poem is a poem don't you know
As long as truth comes in rhyme.
But steady yourself for a terrible blow:
I’ve loved you more all the time.

I did thorougly enjoy this book - I think Tolstoy's way of expression is truly descriptive - he has this ability to romanticise the dullest of activities with his words. But I just don't know whether I agree as to Anna beign a heroine or not? What do you think?!

Thoughts regarding the huge holes in the story that are missed by not reading this book and or the hobbit?

Like Sauron was undead as was evrything he created for he created lycanthropy and the worgs. Plus not knowing about the stones and why they were fought for and why Numenur spelling were out casted.

It is funny when I hear people talk about this and not really know what they ar etalking about. What do you think about trying to explain a story that you fully do not understand?

The problem in publishing is there's too much stuff being sent to publishers. Most people can call themselves writers, because, for example, most people have written at least a poem. Then, they may also believe that immortality beckons if they get published.

Alternatively, what is a writer? Does being published make you a writer?

I read this book about 14 years ago. It was based on a true story about a child abused and murdered by her stepdad. They eventually found her in a lake. The title had rainbow or summer in the title but I am not sure. If anyone has any suggestions it would help.
