Should JK Rowling stop writing the Harry Potter series by Killing Harry off in book 7?

I don't think it's fair! I think she should write A 8th book describe his days after Hogwarts and probaly speed up the time frame to where he got old and died.

Actually, JK Rowling has stated on her website that she may do a book 8. That book will include all the bits and pieces left out of the first 7.

As for killing Harry off, it would make good business sense. If Harry dies, then no one can come along later, after the copyrights have expired, and ruin the hard work she put into these books.

Personally, I would love to see alot more Harry Potter books, but....

No; I don't think that JKR should stop writing the Harry Potter series by killing Harry off in book 7 (and I'm hoping that she won't!)

She said that she understands the impulse of an author to kill off a character to prevent others from later writing about their creation. Of course, that doesn't mean that she will do that. Just that she may have thought about it. She has also said that book 7 will include an explaination of what happens to the surviving characters. It seems that she is set on ending the series with seven books, as she had planned from the beginning. Hopefully she will write that eighth book she has said she *might* do that would include information left out of the series.

honestly this is how i think the book will end.
i believe that harry potter will eventually triumph over lord voldemort and peace will be restored to the wizarding community once and for all and harry potter will go down in history as the greatest wizard of all times.

but that sadly is not the end.

i believe that harry potter was left on the doorstrep of his aunt and uncles house when he was a small baby. i believe that he was greatly abused by the dursley's for most of his formative years, being locked in the closet under the stairs and denied food and adequate humane treatment. but sadly i believe that hogwarts, wizards and witches were merely a displacement created in harry's mind to escape the abuse. many abused child create magical worlds they can retreat to in order to survive abuse. i believe harry did just that.

i believe that the book will end with child services rescuing him from the home.

i would have never thought this ending possible after reading the first couple of books but after reading all six and seeing first hand the linear progression of maturity not only of harry himself but of the context of the books themselves and jk as a writer, i believe that this ending is as pausible as any other that exists out there.

There will be deaths in the final book so people need be prepared. Rowling herself admitted such at a book reading with Steven King in which he begged her not to kill Harry. She revealed that at least two main characters will die and one that was planned to go got a sudden reprieve as she was writing.

Here's my crazy predictions...
I don't think Harry dies. I think Luna was introduced in book five to give Harry an eventual love interest. Strange I know, but no one normal would ever fit into his life.
I think one of more of the Weasley family bites the dust. Its the law of averages people - there's too many of them for them all to survive.
I think Draco turns out to be a not-so-bad/pretty-good guy who lives.

I predicted the death in book six, so who knows...

I think Harrys gonna die, but maybe his death will be significant in some way. Like his whole connection with Voldemort? Maybe, and maybe il get shouted down for this, but maybe he was made a Horcrux by Voldemort killing his parents. Thats the whole connection, not his scar which noone has heard of working as a connection before. Then his death is like an honourable suicide, as hes destroyed every other Horcrux, and theres only him and Voldemort left. So he takes them both down. Or maybe one of the others has to finish Voldemort once Harrys gone. I dunno if ive explained it properly, but if my answer disappears mysteriously from the website youll know I was right lol

The HP books rock my world and have done for years now! but i can't help but think that harry as a character aint all that... if you think about it he doesn't really have a personality and all he does is moan. i mean, yeah he's a good person and brave and all the rest but isn't that a bit boring? hermione is wicked coz she's so mad its hilarious. and ron is funny as he's such a lovable loser! i'd be distraught if either of those two died but with harry, not so much.

i reckon the two characters she's gonna kill off are hagrid (nooooooo) and someone random like neville longbottom. laterz x

I really like that idea it sounds like something she should do. I would like to know if he has kids and if he gets a wife. I just dont think that harry dies in the 7th book.

I'll kill her with my bare hands if she kills Harry off! Harry CAN'T die!!!! think what kind of epedemic there would be of children crying when they read it!!! well I would anyway!!! but I know that the last chapter will be an epilogue saying what happens to the charachters after the end of the story.

It would be nice to have an 8th book but I don't think it'll happen. She doesn't have to kill him off to end the series.She won't kill Harry off to show that good will always triumph over evil.

HE MUST NOT DIE!!! if she kills him off i'll sue her, blackmail her, stalk her, burn her at the stake, and other stuff that i really couldn't do! lol. i heard that she doens't want someone to carry on with the book after she's done, but NO ONE could make better Harry Potter books than she can!!! HARRY CAN't DIE!!! i'll will die if he does!!!! j/k but i'll be be VERY sad!! i think she should write another book too!! yay! I LOVE HARRY POTTER!! <3
