If I were to recommend books to you it would be "The conversion between Science and Spirituality" (it's called something like that) by the Dalai Lama, "Advice on Dying" by the Dalai Lama, "How to solve our human problems" by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. If you are interested in being a hard core buddhist, "The Simple Path" by the Dalai Lama is a great read too.

Any interesting books are welcome ^_^

Two of my friends are joining SCA and we are looking for books that give some sample ideas, lots of pictures, to help limit our time period. We want relatively historically accurate (no zippers but i'm not measuring stitchings for my buttonholes either) but I am willing to have a few modern alterations.

You create a character so I'd need a couple books that reference the location that garb would have been worn. Thats what I'm having the hardest time with. Are there books just by location?

Pictures of clothing worn between AD 900 and AD 1600--however a really good *detailed* book that only had 1200-1300 or 1400-1600 would be better.

Seamstresses that make historical costumes or other members of SCA, LARP, reenactment groups--Please give your favorite reference book.

I just bought the Nikkor 18-200mm lens a week ago. I like the lens so far, but it creates a darkened spot in the same place on all my images.

Sometimes the spot is a bit smaller and more defined (towards the 18mm side), and sometimes its larger and lighter (towards the 200mm side), but it's always there. (on a few images there are three spots!!).

At first I thought it was lens flare, or a hot spot, but I don't think it is. I can see the spot through the viewfinder at all times. I will upload two or three example images.

I don't know if it's some sort of dirt in the lens, or if I should return the lens to get fixed.
If anyone has any suggestions I would GREATLY appreciate them!

Thanks a bunch.
Naomi

The example comes from a question I just asked: "Actions speak louder than words, but the pen is mightier than the sword."

Can you add to my collection?

I have a friend that REFUSES to read the books or see the movies with me because he's convinced Harry Potter is connected with the Illuminati. I don't know if this is true and I don't really care, it won't stop me from reading the books or watching the movies, however, I would like to know where this assumption might come from. Is there something to do with magic or wizarding that would make one assume an Illuminati connection? I don't understand, someone PLEASE explain!

BTW... If you don't know what Illuminati are, please don't answer the question. I need an informed answer. Thanks!

Don't belive it, go ahead and search for it. I have got all the information about it.

Queen Nefertiti of Egypt was a native of Mitanni. The Mittani Kingdom of Armenia was an off-shoot of the Hurrian kingdom. The Hurri and the Mittani in turn were the contemporaries the Hittites and the Hykos, within whom they shared many cultural and political aspects. Today, all these aforementioned nations are considered to be, in varying degrees, proto-Armenians, that is, we modern day Armenians are direct descendants of the remnants of those ancient tribes."
