the beauty of dreams is that they can only be shared, never stolen.

I do not think that a Dream, can be stolen, because it's your own, and if it was an invention you had thought of than had the dream than if you do not tell anyone about it, it cannot be stolen from you.

If an idea is stolen you can usually have a second crack at it - and improve it enough to make it different. Sometime ideas seem to hover in the air itself, and others pick them up. I've had that happen with phrases, book-plots and much else. Aggravating but not fatal - there's always another way to do it, if you really want to. As for dreams - they're all our own, and we can pursue them as we choose while we can, regardless of who else is sailing round the world in a bath-tub.

Dreams are more internal. I reckon a dream could be stolen in a way. Interesting question.

I think that the Japanese writer Haruki Murakami deals with this question a lot in the novels of his I have read. In particular I am thinking about the "Wind-up Bird Chronicle". The way he describes it is as the psychic (and perhaps sexual)violation of someone while they are most vulnerable and their soul is laid open (into its two dualistic halves). It's like a psychic-spiritual rape. As a result the person's dream is stolen.
So I do think it can happen, but it doesn't happen casually with a strong person, if someone copies their dream or tries to take it as their own. It's a more serious thing.

If one has a dream set deep in ones heart, that sustains them, no it can't be stolen, but if one does not have a deep set "idea of a dream",it often can be shattered, such as(possibly) in youth, thus few to little dreams left. with maturity, one may reset their goals and "ideas as dreams". Thus I say in this case; the "idea of the dream" is deeper set than in youth when dreams could be shattered easily, that "all dreams";set deep upon maturity, can't be stolen.

The opportunies to live out your dream can be stolen, but a dream itself cannot be stolen. That is yours and yours alone and nobody can take it away from you.

The only person who can steal and stuff up a dream is Freddy Krueger.
Lol, sorry.
Now seriously no they can never be stolen because they will always be in a safehold in the back/front/side of your mind somewhere.
