Where can I find a list of the order in which to read the Tolkien books. I've read the hobbit and I have the Silmarillion audiobook and I picked up the new one today. Silmarillion is the very start of the middle earth books so where does the story go from there?
Are the 12 part "history of.." books just fillers or are they actually in order of events (I still have to get those).

Any links or help would be greatly appreciated.

I usually just think to myself "OK, you can do it. You just have to do what you've been practicing for all along!" And yet, this time, it's different. You see, today, I auditioned for a role in my school play. I think I did bad because I was sick and nervous (and I just heard about it yesterday)...but someone told me that I didn't. I mean, OK, I might still get a part, but not the part I wanted. And also, tomorrow I have ANOTHER audition which I'm being really negative about. I think it's because this is the FINAL audition and the other person competing against me is REALLY good. She got more votes from the judges than I did last time (but since they want to make it unanimous, another round is to be held tomorrow). I don't think I'm going to get this part, I really don't. But I want to! Help me, please, I really need help with both my situations!

I've heard that an artist makes a color lithograph by using more than one stone. How does this work in practice? Does the artist really need to paint on 6 different stones to create a painting with six colors? How does the artist know how the print will look once the stones are combined when transferred onto paper?

Would you say it's easy to read and understand? I mean, not like Shakespeare. I could understand it, but it's too many metaphors. Is Dracula crowded with metaphors and stuff as well? (A small exerpt would be very helpful to support your opinion). I'm thinking of ordering it, but I'm not sure yet. I need to know by Friday. Thank you!

I am absolutely terrible at analyzing and interpreting poems so please help if you know the answer.

Oh mother, mother, where is happiness?
They took my lover's tallness off to war.
Left me lamenting. Now I cannot guess
What I can use an empty heart-cup for.
He won't be coming back here any more.
Some day the war will end, but, oh, I knew
When he went walking grandly out that door
That my sweet love would have to be untrue.
Would have to be untrue. Would have to court
Coquettish death, whose impudent and strange
Possessive arms and beauty (of a sort)
Can make a hard man hesitate – and change.
And he will be the one to stammer, "Yes."
Oh mother, mother, where is happiness?

In this poem, how come mother is not with a capital M?
Why is "of a sort" written in brackets?
Are there any examples of assonance, consonance or dissonance in this poem?
