My eraser isn't great, there are still pencil lines left over after erasing. Any tips?

Hey Rooky Beats,

Erase in a small circular motion, not back and forth.

Do not touch the eraser, it puts finger oils on the eraser and makes it ineffective.

Keep your pencil lines lighter, for easy removal (don't bear down on the pencil).

Draw lightly and don't press down when you are starting a drawing. You can always go darker if it is in the right place.

Use an HB pencil rather than a softer lead like a 2B or 4B and it won't leave such a dark mark.

Did I mention about the not pressing down too hard? :)

Use decent drawing paper, heavy stuff, not regular printer paper.

Good erasers - kneaded eraser, Pink Pearl, and Magic Rub

some times it depend on the eraser your using if you using a pink that ok when drawing lightly but another good eraser is the kneeded eraser but my favorite is the magic rub eraser it gets out almost any pencil mark i recently used it in a painting to get out the pencil under the painting and by it and it got it out and didn't even smudge the work

well, you can draw lightly with the pencil, with faint lines, but easy enough to see, and perhaps a new eraser might work well too! Some brands like mars, stadteler (or something like that) are really good erasers.

Try a kneaded eraser. They usually work very well.
Just twist off a small piece, roll (knead) it around your fingers for a bit, form a point or a rounded edge, and erase away!

Buy a putty eraser. Can be moulded to point if needed.
Also try not to make an impression on the paper while drawing. Use acid free paper to stop your drawing, especially colours, from fading.
