I have to read the Diary Of Anne Frank for Language, and Im not that far and im already confused. Who is Elli? She never once explained her, and now all of a sudden she is going to spend the night, and is over all the time. Who is she???

She comes out as you continue to read. Its a diary of a little girl whom is scared. Though she has mature and surprisingly desciptive depictions of the holocost she is still a child. It is a true story of the life of this girl in the horors in Germany in her times. In Ann Franks eyes it was just her diary as a little terrified child. This has been a best seller several times becauseof it being a true story. The psychology involved in her truama might help open the answer of whom her friend is as you read on. I found it confussing at times too but the child author is confused though very open in her thoughts and expressions. I hope this helped with out giving away the treasures you will discover in this expression of the human experience in war.

I read this book tens times,
Elli was Anne Franks best friend who was captured by the nazi germans and brought to the concentration camps.

Elli was one of the office workers downstairs who helped the Franks along with Miep, Henk, Krahler and Koophius.

Its a really good book. Like many said, very sad but still uplifting the way she pursued. I've been to the actual location of the place she stayed in Amsterdam. If you want the full affect go there. Also see if you can watch the movie that's pretty good too.

I read it last year. I think Elli was her best friend who was captured by the Nazis, but I'm not positive about it.

Whenever I get confused when I'm reading, I just keep reading...things usually work themselves out. Try going back and seeing if it says; sometimes we skip over things in our brains.
