Well Science would have not screw us up. I don't see animals torture other animals... I don't see lion raped a female lion and then dismembered it and buried it. I never seen a penguin crucified another penguin. I don't see Zebra Winfrey.
I don't see ants going to colleges. I don't see a tree molested a young tree. I have never seen a cell drugged overdose and suicide. If Scientists have all the answer, if there is no God,
if there is no Devil.... then why we HUMANS act the way we do? Why do we put tax on people? Why we have to work for money? Why can't we just be lazy and just live like cavemen?
We can just live in cave and eat raw meat and vegetable.
And why were we born stupid? Why newborn animals automatically know how to bark, know how to walk, and stuff,
without learning? How come we ain't born with INSTINCT?
There gotta be a GOD that made us this way. So we just gonna die and be food for worm? What is the point of us living like this? We got SUV, nice houses, internet..?

I mean, people are judging what science says about the world as fact and as the 'way of the universe', so people better understand what they are percieving..

But to those scientists who do not follow a specific religion or philosophy- how can you as near to objectivity as possible determine what constitutes as being ethical, and what does not?

If you simply consider it to be the laws of the land then are you happy with that? Is it enough, is it not enough?

How can one attempt to identify objective moral practices?

I'd love some thoughtful answers to this. =)

I like really "odd" stories that make you think! What do you recommend? (no sci-fi... please)

Knowledge = Power
Time = Money
Power = Work / Time

because Time = Money, and Power = Knowledge, solving the equation for Money we get:
Money = Work / Knowledge

the closer knowledge gets to 0, the more money you make. do you think this is true?

Let us assume God created, and planned out, the universe. Could God not have thought of a better, more convenient, less morally touchy methods of reproducing? I find it ridiculous. Not to mention God then proceeds to make it one of the most strict and hard to pull off in a morally right fashion, action humans can make. Maybe some act like sex is necessary for love, and humankind, but must it have been the hormone injected humpfest we know?

We read it first year of college in English class. It was about this guy who is walking through a cemetery and thinking how everyone rich or poor dies one day and hence everyone ends up under the ground no matter what. The message of the poem was that everyday you should remind yourself of death.

in your hand is the pearl of my desire
your hand snapped shut tight like a clam
prying does no good, your strength exceeds any imagination
waiting impatiently
searching my mind for distraction
outside of my mind for entertainment
nothing-dead as the desert
limp as a tumbleweed
moving only as it blows in the wind
tasteless as sand
equally as drying
i stare, you snore
i roll my eyes
you clamp down tighter
i can't even take it from you in your sleep
just determined to hold it just inches out of my reach....
aren't you?

When I play a song that has diminished chords and major 7th chords, I always have to write down the notes above the chord, otherwise I cant remember it. After I practice the song, I memorize the chords, so I dont really have to read the lead sheet anymore - but I still dont know how to make a diminished or major 7 right off the cuff. When will I be able to look at a chord chart and just play the music without having to write in all my aug and maj7 chord letters? How should I teach myself how to do this?
