Not all do !! Usually it is those who have run clean out of things to waste their time on--- and have found themselves faced with nothing meaningful to fill the "void" inside that crack into this "quest" !!
And, the "seeking" does not guarantee "finding" fulfillment---often it leads people down deadend roads and blind alleyways---into the depths of darkness and into perilous adventures
It was once explained to me by a highly recognized spiritual guru---every individual has, within themselves, a very small but very significant piece of their total self that is "missing"---and some (not all) recognize that they are not "complete" without this piece of their own personal "puzzle"---- they search and search through all kinds of "things" looking for that little "something" that completes them--- it is a part of the "driving force" that motivates people to explore the richness of life (and in some cases the other side of things that exists within our realm) !!
Those who fill this "void" with absolutely anything grow contented easily---settle into mediocrity and vegatate
Those who allow the "emptiness" --- tap into a power that "draws" a flow FROM life that opens a supernatural "flow" of "celestial bounty" that is ever sustaining and enriching and creates a richness of spirit that causes the world around them to flourish !!

Hello. I believe we seek fulfillment to validate our usefulness on earth, but far more importantly it is to show us our need for true fulfillment which is ONLY found in knowing Jesus Christ. God made us like that, and the search for fulfillment is quite basic. The highest and best fulfillment can only be found in knowing God, and until we reach that in some way we are not totally fulfilled. Good luck.

Because realizing that we are no more importantt in the universe than a blade of grass or a mosquito gives people an infeority complex, they have to invent grandiose schemes and delusions, be it man made global warming changing teh earth, or building the highest building, or trekking all ove rthe globe searching for something they really don't want to find. Like King Arthur's quest for the Holy Grail. Something to do before you get old and die.

For the same reasons we want to keep learning. It's our nature to progress, intelligently, physically, emotionally, etc...
We learn as we experience life, whether we want to or not. Sights, sounds and feelings turn into memories. If you remember something that made you feel good, you tend to explore it further. No matter what it is. Whether it's spiritual, sexual or academic. So that can be a good thing. Unfortunately, it's also why some people overdose on drugs, do dangerous stunts, etc... So it's not always a good thing.

Because the human mind is a goal-seeking mechanism. It has to have a target, an objective, for it to function at its peak.
