It's called the Union Jack. It's a big X with stars in side the X

since it is the background you're wanting a suggestion for, I suggest you repeat the flag image on a flagpole, only make it look tattered, maybe with a hole in it. You might also make what looks like an explosion. Behind that a sunrise on the horizon.Of course, i'd make the whole background kind of light so the big flag really stands out.

Read the websites bo_fra has given you in her answer, then pick out a detail you feel some relationship to and make it overlay the flag of your choice. You might also consider over-laying one flag with the other flag, then add the other detail. Have fun.

well it depends what level of art you are in. If you are in a high level high school course you should do something that involves redcoats and colonial troops and also maybe some kind of ship battle.
anything below that id say just wing it. or write a bunch of peices of the consitution in the backround in nice font.

hmm...arrows signify war, and olive branch signifies peace, so maybe some kind of pattern with them...on the presidential seal (i think) there's an image of an eagle holding 7(i think) arrows in one claw and an olive branch in the other.

draw alot of bins.(be certain to apply a ruler) then merely make a carpark and a recognition for the mall. its that straightforward!!!!(dont come across a photo of a drawing that called "dishonest")
