I want to read some classic literature that I never got around to and I'll be reading them for fun. However, I'd like a guide of some sort to go with them......sort of like having a professor helping you pick up things you might otherwise have missed. Pretty much, I'm figuring Cliff or Spark Notes would be helpful with this..........but should I read them before or after reading the actual text? I don't want to spoil the plot or anything, but I want to be able to catch on to things by having a general idea when I start. I've never used such guides in highschool or college so I'm not sure even if they will be useful as guides. Your thoughts? Before? After? Not at all?

I work at a theatre and often we get to dress up at work for Halloween. We also have Halloween tours at our theatre. I have often been one of the ghosts. What are you dressing up as this year? I am thinking of being a ghost pirate.

I am not a history scholar, but as far as I know, the United States is the only territory that the British controlled which rebelled and became its own sovereign nation. Is this true?

"Hold alike pleasure and pain, gain and loss, victory and defeat, and get ready for battle; then you will not incur sin.

A person should not be elated by pleasure or depressed by pain, nor should he mind gain or loss. He should not feel anxious about victory in war or about loss of his life on the battlefield. While discharging his duty, he should bear patiently what falls to his lot. When his mind attains to this state, he does not incur sin. So you must carry on the fight without anxiety. "

Is Lord Krishna telling Arjuna to take worldly things as a nothing? Is He advicing Arjuna to take worldly matters very lightly? sort of whatever happens, doesn't matter, get on with inherent tastes, strengths with an attitude to reduce affinity for the sensed world's attributes gradually, probably not worried of the end results. What's your stand ?

I was recently offered by a friend to direct an acting group I have been a part of for 7 years. I'm very excited about it and can't wait to start. There are a few probelms though. Since this is the 50th Anniversary of this program, we want to stage a musical, but we don't know which one to do, and how to possibly do it with a bunch of 3rd - 9th graders. Putting on a show with kids that young with music, dances, and lines can get tense, and I speak from experience.
Another problem I have is controlling kids. I would like to think I'm a leader, even though I'm probably not. Sure I like kids, but I have a hard time keeping them under control, and getting them to obey orders and such. It's a major problem I would like to solve but I don't know how.
This is going to be alot of fun and a great challenge, so I'd like these problems solved before I start. Thank you!!

To find the truth all you need to do is spend sometime in solitude.
This thought of mine, this thought divine, this thought that lingered in my mind.
This notion of sort, its running its course, I think that my mind has gained it first support.
The inspring hope, the ways I've grown, my past has left me now, but I am not alone.
I have the attributies of truth, the things of new are the things I view, not alone in my solitude.
No one looks they all deny, they all seem blind, with adultress eyes.
The truth does'nt lay in others hands or heart's, its not lost in the stars it's lost in the soul with all of its astonishing art.
Truth is better than a million friends, to find the truth you may intend to look deep with in yourself but then again it all depends.
The certain truth that is important, is to know yourself before you become distored.
If you never have time to sit and relax, you'll get lost in the false views that your friends will always have...
