evolutionary threat and harm usually comes at us in three dimensional space, this is where consciousness has been forced,to cocentrate and define itself, because of the possibility of being stepped on by wooly mammoths and eaten by sabre-tooth tigers, the primitive evolving mind of human beings concentrate on nearby space and time because that is where threat comes from, the kind of threat that has to be imediately responded to by running away or fighting or something like that. but, consciousness is an icredable plastic and maleable medium. so what happens when you take a compound like psilocyben in the darkness,in a situation of no threat and low anxiety and low input from the exterior world is that the function which is essentually in most situations a closed fist ready to strike out at something coming from nearby, unfolds into something much more beautifull, much more interesting, and true to itself. not defined by an exterior context or situation, but defined by its own mechanics...

"I am not good looking, by gar,
Others are handsomer far,
But my face I don't mind it
For I am behind it;
It's the fellow in front that I jar."

Anyone knows what the last line means?

Thanks a lot!!!

My homecoming is tomorrow, and I'd like to have fun and move around a bit; I don't know how to dance though. Are there any particular dances I should know, and what about when there is dance music on; what movements should I employ?

I'm taking a intro Logic course in University and this is one of the questions. I just want to make sure I'm not out in left field here..

North Korea lacks strong diplomatic ties with the United States.(~p) If diplomatic ties were strong (p), the U.S. would have a good chance of persuading them to negotiate away their nuclear weapons program.(q) So the U.S. doesnt have much of a chance of persuading North Korea to negotiate away their nuclear
weapons program. (~q)

Now, I reduced this argument down to a sentential language and this is what I came up with...

(p>q)
~p
--------
~q

Now, I know this is denying the antecedent, but I cannot come up with anything else....

Is it still a valid argument??

I've been in many, many shows and I have never found a score so instantly appealing. I thought it would be kind of girly. I remember it was my sister's favorite book when we were growing up. But it is powerful and engaging. By the way, I'm playing Neville, so I get to sing "Lily's Eyes".

What are the best words to describe the drawing of this young man. Best answer gets 10 points. Poetic descriptions encouraged e.g. "A willowy youth, his agitation at society manafested with in the gold lip ring"

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c379/ukoku_sanzo/da.jpg

The longer your descriptions the better your chances.

Sidenote: If you have nothing good to say, keep it to yourself.

and also if i ever become a cheerleader i will not be the really preppy kinds cuz thats more of my friends presonality(we are like almost nothing alike)

then also about the same friend..she is nice but it seems to me that she cares more about popularity and she has soooo many friends and i dont but we are really good friends and without her i would have even less friends but some of her friends dont like me so i dont know what i should do

I was once an aspiring actress and I once was told by a counselor that occupations, such as teaching actually involve a lot of acting skill. So I was just wondering, could acting skills help in other occupations, such as business deals, PR, and maybe some other types of work?

I took acting in high school for 3 years and one semester in college. I haven't in a play or took a course since 2003.

A professor referred to a scale used to understand things in a Sociology class that I took long ago.
The scale was a list of emotions ie: anger, fear, humor, etc. The idea is to examine your subject from the various emotions to gain multiple perspectives.
Does anyone have any idea what I am talking about (I know this is very vague). Do you know the name of this scale (I think it was a Psycologist's name). Does anyone know the complete scale?

your enemies' mill utter many unspeakable words, decrying your prowess. Could anything be sadder than that?

They will shout," Arjuna has fled from here in fright". If this public opprobrium persists, will that be good for you? People win fame, O Arjuna, with great effort, even at the risk of their life. You have earned without effort and obstacles fame, which is unlimited like the sky (206-210). You have gained unbounded and unparalleled reputation, and your virtues are regarded as excellent by the three worlds. Even far-off kings sing your praises like bards; and after hearing them even the God of death is alarmed. Your great glory is as pure as the water of the Ganges; and its report astounds the great warriors of the world. After hearing your marvelous prowess, the Kauravas have lost all hopes of survival. Just as after hearing the lion's roar, even rutting elephants think the world-dissolution to be near, so you inspire dread in the minds of all Kauravas.
