i write poems and am taking a guitar class....how could i make my poems into songs?

I take guitar also but to make a poem into a song all you have to do is put a chors into it and make it longer also you need chords to go with your song. Good luck!

You will have to finish your guitar lessons first. My favorite songs are the ones that sound like poetry so you are half way there. After you finish you guitar lessons you will have the ability to create the music for your poems since you are obviously creative enough to write poetry.

if your poems are lyric like, i would just strum along while singing. Or play a song you know to your poem, and then tweak the song or the poem.

read your poem to yourself out loud. And something will come. When you keep doing this, you will hear a certain rhythem. I dont really know how to explain. Play several different chords and see if any seem to fit. Good Luck Man

sing/read ur poem,try to make a rhythm 4 it, and then try to replicate the rhythm it ur guitar.

-it works but u have to be familiar with the different sound of notes played

It's called "music composition"... adding music to words! If you can't figure out how to do it...sell your guitar, because you'll never have the talent to write music!!
