I need some history on fake blood. Can any one help me out with websites where I can find this information.

Fake blood goes back to a least Shakespeare, although it wasn't "fake" in that is was sheeps' pigs' or bulls' blood. The renaissance audiences love blood 'n' guts, so many of the playwrights of the time had gory scenes on stage.
The blood was stored in a piece of gut during the performance, and was squeezed open when the actor wanted to bleed.
