You know, were we better off without technology? I mean, we got around fine, spent our time wisley, and every indian fended for themself and their family. Now, everyone is so busy they have to double-task, and when they DO get free time, they don't know what to do with it. is technology holding us back? I mean, go take a cellphone away from a kid and they try to get it back, or even take one fro an adault and that person is suddenly toatally, pitiably "helpless". what happened?

Within spiritual circles it is frowned down on and taken extemely seriously as not to declare oneself as being enlightened. It is said, 'That to declare oneself enlightened, proves one is already not', as the statement is said indeed by the Ego. To have ego is to not be enlightened. The self declared prophet is not listened to or taken seriously and would never be accepted within religious circles. And yet today we are reaching a point in time where many are becoming illumined, but non prepared to declare themselves as such. Many words spoken prove there is much wisdom out there. If only all could be gathered together to share and use the accumulated wisdom for the good of all! Are there any here who know themselves to be awakened or dare I say enlightenened?

well the prophecy goes that in the year 2000 the world would end .. duh .. well nothing happen .. and people belived the entire thing a hoax and went on with they're lives.. well a year later terroist attack the twin towers.. and about a year later iraq war.. then... katrina in 2005.. and well now they'res a depispute about nuclear weapons in north korea . testing weapons to attack the united states.. now the middle east in war.. not includeing rising gas prices .. along with global warming and droughts in all parts of the world.. could theyre be any more of a sign .. does god have to beat us down and make us cripple until we see whats about to happen.. i predict next year north korea will grow stronger with the nukes and hold the world in a stand stll such as russia did.. and but instead wont care about the after affects...and and as CNN predicted 2009 another huge hurricane will happen and the terroist will attack oil mines.. have an open mind .. are we so stubborn not to realize

With which final words should the human race rest in peace?

Perhaps '"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains' or 'Humans - Mostly harmlous'
or something of your own creation?
Good luck!

Than sitting in the dark, listening to rain falling on a tin roof, smoking cigarettes and sipping on Jack over ice while listening to John Lee Hooker tell you the truth.

Here is the entire poem, a name or author would be wonderful!

Let me hold you before I die,
Wipe your tears and do not cry.
Just love me right now as much as you can,
I've lived life a child, let me leave a woman.

You have meant so much to me,
And it's hard to tell you goodbye.
So just kiss my cheek and hug me hard,
And please oh please don't ask why.

Tell me you love me just one more time,
Tell me you'll be happy again.
Let me see a smile on that pretty face,
And let it wash away your pain.

I love you for now and for always,
Even though I am going away.
Keep me always in your heart and thoughts,
And my spirit will never stray.

Let me hold you before I die,
And comfort me as I can't help but cry.
There's not much else for me to do,
But whisper one more time,
One final time,
That I love you.

I took a picture of a dark brown signpost. It's one of those new touristy signposts. Behind it is a field. The sky was partially overcast.

The sky was overexposed and the signpost is very dark. I tried gamma correction but the whole picture becomes either too bright or too dark. I tried to reduce the contract, which helps bring out details in the clouds, but the picture has a greyish tint. Changing brightness levels does the same.

Is there any way I can improve the picture? I am using freeware image manipulation software (IrfanView and Serif PhotoPlus 6).

Thanks.

Does it make an immoral person to believe in this? I see myself as a man of science, i personally believe that this is the universal cure to all diseases in the future. Some people say though that human beings are destroyed in the process of the research, the way i see it is that eventhough it is a growing cell it has no thoughts, no feelings, no individuality since it cannot yet relate to us in the sense of a developed human being. I personally stand all the way for this research, yet others think otherwise... What's more important, the chances that a cell MIGHT develop into a human being, or the chance of developing something that might help the whole world.

When I was back in England to visit my family, I did some genealogy work, part of which included going to graveyards and looking for long gone relatives. I was shocked to see that some of the graveyards had been left to grow wild. I asked one man about it who was tidying up at one church, and was told that he was not allowed to mow as the local diocese wanted to let things grow wild.
I saw this at quite a few churches. I find this very disrespectful, what are your thoughts?
