But the Jews you speak of are not the true Jews.

For one thing, they help one another. Also, they are taught from early childhood to be sensible and not waste money. And they are NOT taught, as many Christians seem to be, that there is anything sinful in making money. Certainly, money is made in sinful ways sometimes, but an honest businessman who provides goods or services that people want and are willing to pay for has a perfect right to a profit. Jewish people have long realized that, and so Levi's jeans got world famous, because Mr. Levi understood that some gold prospectors would get rich and some would not, but all of them would need strong, practical clothes to wear while they were out there in the gold fields.

Richard Dawkins made the identification, that children for very good Darwinian reasons, believe almost everything parents and elders tell them. A young child cannot afford to get involved in naturalistic experimentation, to know not to swim in the river, because of the crocodiles. There simply is not enough time to get involved in such experimentation and speculation. Any child who did, would very quickly wind up dead.

Because the young human brain is set up to believe everything its told, it is thus, also set up to be gullible to "viral infection" such as lies and mysticism.

Religion is purely based on faith... Having faith is believing in something without direct evidence.

Richard Dawkins also draws an analogy with computer viruses: One cannot design a computer program such as Microsoft Word, Excel or Acrobat reader; without those programs also being vulnerable to viruses, that essentially say "spread me around" and perhaps "do some malicious damage" also.

That is exactly what religion is, it is a virus of the mind. Such viruses distort the mind with pockets of mysticism. Once the mind is corrupted with such mysticism, it acts as a reality blocker. It blurs an individuals ability to fully grasp reality.

Some religions are more destructive than others. Biblical literalists and Islamic fundamentalists for example, are so benighted with religious mysticism, that they become ensconced in anti-reality distortions and are unable to grasp important aspects of reality.

The human brain has evolved to understand and integrate reality. The more disconnected from reality an individuals mind becomes, the less able to function in the real World.

Jews on the whole are less mystical than Christians and Muslims, because the Jewish religion is less mystical and thus distorts one's view of reality in a less harmful way, the same can be said for Mormans .

Of course, all religion distorts the mind and the difference between Jewish mysticism and Christian/Muslim mysticism, is one of degree of influence and not of kind. I personally, prefer to dispense with religion altogether and connect directly with objective reality.

It is interesting to note, that a high percentage of Jews are also atheists. It might be an interesting experiment to measure how many atheists and agnostics are succesful, relatively measured against Orthodox Jews, Christians and Muslims. My guess is that these individuals, being the least beclouded with mysticism, would be the most succesful.

Jews who are successful have one thing in common, they have not left the idea of the importance of family behind. The are not alone in this. Most immigrates who retain close family ties, and the importance of marriage and children, are generally successful. It is when they become Americanized, and lose this, that they fail.
