I am college student living at home. My sister has physical abused me my whole life. I know that is has mental issues, but she is like a switch she can go from perfectly fine to crazy in a minute. For 19 years i have been her punching bag. She tends to act out when no one is around. When i was little i would to cry to my parents for them not to go out and leave me with my sister. My sister has pinned me up against walls, threating me with knifes. My grandmother once had to ripe away a knife from her hand that she had up against my thoart. I have been kicked down the stairs so many times i lost count. It took my mother to finally see what she is when she saw it first hand and my mothers broke her leg. This was the first fight after 19 years that i fought bak but it only made her want to attack harder. My parents have let her bak into the the house....should i attempt for a restaining order? i fear that only a matter of time before she attacks me again

According to Vivekananda, "true joy and happiness cannot come about as long as there is desire, but arises from the contemplative witness-like study of objects".

If there were no desire, why would one bother doing anything (including contemplating)? And if you do nothing, you would have no purpose and surely on the contrary be unhappy. Clearly I am misunderstanding...can anyone explain?

For the past 20 years I have fed my dogs home cooked meat ( bought in minced form from a local butcher - mostly beef) Unfortunately the butcher has closed due to local council plans and I now have to buy the meat from another butcher, this is more pork and chicken. My friend's dogs made the transition easy - no problem but mine are being strange and will eat about every 2 days.I have tried veg and gravy but no success, any ideas what I can add to spark them ?
No stupid answers please and there is no way I will feed them tinned ( I know what goes in it)
